Mulberry Lane Petting Farm

Today the kids and I went to the Mulberry Lane Petting Farm in Sherwood and it was so much fun!!  I purchased a Groupon earlier this Summer and just realized a couple days ago that it expired today.  We got it in just before it expired and it ended up being a great day for it!

My plan was to get there at 10:00am when it opened since the forecast I saw a couple days ago was calling for temps in the 90s.  Well, we ended up getting out of here around 11:00am, so a little later than I was planning.  We had nothing else going on today, so it really wasn't a big deal... and the updated forecast was showing highs in the lower 80s, which was so nice!

We had a snack before we left, so when we got there we could take the tour they say lasts about an hour, eat lunch and then walk around some more to see some of our favorite things.  The plan actually ended up working really well.  We were there for almost four hours, which I still can't believe.  The kids were great and the weather couldn't have been any better - it was perfect!

I took A LOT of pictures and of course have to share some.  The challenge was trying to select only a small sample of the pictures I took.  I want to include ones of everything we saw/did, so it ends up being a lot.  Sorry! ; )

Again, it was so much fun!!!!!

Some of the most memorable moments were:
1) Eli got peed on by a cat!
2) The tour guide got pooped on by a cow when people were milking it
3) Kate got hysterical after being scared when the kitten she was holding sneezed

And, here are the pictures...

[yes, they really let the kids pick these up!]

[Rachel wasn't sure about it... : )]

[thought the pigs were cute]

[yes, Nate was with us - even though he isn't in many pictures!  I did take him out of the stroller to eat one time and also for the hayride, which he loved... he's so flexible and will just go with the flow ~ love him!]

[pony ride]

[Kate watching the pony rides... she did a lot of watching, which I was okay with.  It just seems almost dangerous for her to be petting tons of farm animals and then sucking her thumb.  We washed it a lot and I was conscious of what thumb she'd touch animals with.]

[Rachel and Eli by the 700+lb pig!!!]

[Nate again! : )]

[Eli was not afraid to pick up anything... it made it more fun!]

[Eli showing his younger siblings how cool he was! ;)]

[Eli holding a cute little chick]

[Eli holding a tiny kitten]

[Rachel holding a tiny kitten and showing it to Kate]

[Kate holding a chick after I caught it for her... notice her right thumb outside my hand?  I tried to block it from direct contact with animals. : )]

[kids looking through a big tractor wheel]

[asked for funny faces and only had one participant - thanks Eli]

[more kittens... they were in here a lot]

[Kate's had about enough...]

[this is the cat that peed on Eli.  after it happened he went to the washing area to clean up.  the cat followed him - we were laughing so hard!]

[this still makes me laugh!]

[before we left the kids had a freeze pop - love those things!]

So many reasons to smile today! : )

Keep smiling...
