fishing, swimming and friends

Eli: Fishing with Dad and Grandpa
Eli had his first big fishing trip with Mike and grandpa on Sunday.  He was very excited!  He had to get up at 5:15am, which made me a little nervous... especially after a fun birthday party the night before.  He was a little emotional when he got up, but still very excited to go - even though you could tell he was really tired.  He ended up shaking out of it quick and was ready to go.  I guess he did very well.  They were fishing until about noon and kept 30 fish.  Eli thought it was pretty neat.  He caught the largest perch!

They also met my parents on the lake later in the morning, so that was exciting for him, too.  Glad he had fun... what a big boy!

[Thanks Mary for getting some pictures!]

Sunday Dinner: swimming
The kids did some swimming on Sunday at grandma and grandpa's house.  The pool wasn't filled with water earlier in the day, so the water that went in it was freezing cold!!  The kids were still running in and out of, but we felt bad.  Grandpa filled some warm buckets of water in the house and dumped in pool to warm up.  How nice of him!!!!  Hope the kids realize I will not be doing that every time I fill our pool. ; )

Today was a fun day... busy, but fun!  The kids had swimming first and then Rachel had her first upcycling class that was offered through the Rec Dept.  It's for an hour each day this week.  Seems like it'll be a fun class.

Rachel and Eli each had a friend over this afternoon, too.  They had a blast!  Did a lot of playing outside!
