Thank you to all those who help protect us each and every day.
There was a procession of squad cars in Fond du Lac today in honor of fallen Officer Craig Birkholz.  It was amazing both how many communities were represented and how many people lined the streets to pay respect to Officer Birkholz.  Made me very proud to be part of this community.  Eli, Kate, Olivia and I met Grandma and Grandpa near the Hwy 23 and Hwy K intersection.  They did a great job describing the feeling on the radio... it was just silence as the parade of 100+ squad cars and other emergency vehicles drove by.  The only sound was that of the ice pellets hitting cars, jackets and the pavement.  I was proud to be part of it.

The Blue Ribbon Campaign information below is something I received in an email.  We have a blue ribbon showing our support on the back of our vehicle.  It was also neat to see all the blue ribbons tied on trees, signs, etc along Johnson street today.  Gave me the chills...

Blue Ribbon Campaign An expression of appreciation and support in the wake of tragedy.    Blue ribbons are being placed throughout the Fond du Lac community, as a reminder of the vast support for and appreciation of local public safety agencies and employees.     Citizens are encouraged to show their support and place blue ribbons on their property, car antennas and to wear them on their persons.  (Any strip of royal blue ribbon will work.)

Eli had Show & Tell today.  He brought the tiger stuffed animal Mike and I got him for Valentine's Day.  He said it went well.  He also learned about ladybugs today at school and they did a project that he said he was excited to show me when he can bring it home.  Can't wait to see it!  They do so many fun things at his preschool... love it!

Rachel has been having to try a fruit/vegetable each week in school.  She is not a fan of trying new things!  Today they had to try something red and round, but she didn't even remember what it was.  She said "it was spicy!"  Okay, I'm sure it wasn't spicy, but that was her excuse for not liking it.  I can't really get upset with her about not wanting to try new things since I'm not a fan of doing that myself. : )

So, this weather really stinks!!  I was getting used to the nicer weather and the look of grass... looks like the middle of Winter out there and not early Spring.

I had to do a six mile run tonight.  I didn't feel like running after the kids were in bed, so decided to run while American Idol was on.  So, the kids and I were in the basement... me~running and them~dancing, playing, watching American Idol and being a little crazy.  Worked out pretty well!  Now everyone is in bed and my run is done.  I'm so thankful that my kids can be so accommodating when necessary. : )
