Spring is here...

Saturday... the kids did lots of playing outside.  Most of it was at Nani and Papa's.  Mike was busy helping a friend and I had my big 11-mile run to tackle.  My parents were nice enough to help watch the kids, so I could run outside.  It was much more enjoyable than running in the basement on the treadmill.  The kids had so much fun there... lots of playing outside!  Basketball, chalk, walk around the block, hopscotch, walking to the park, jump rope... so much fun!

After that we spent the evening with some friends.  The kids had so much fun playing with Ellie and Jack.  Was a late night for all the kids, but they did awesome!!!  [wish I would have taken some pictures there...]

Rachel's seeds that she planted during her sleepover with Aunt Christy started sprouting this weekend!  Rachel was pretty excited!  Thanks Aunt Christy!

The kids also had fun digging through some toys we had in the garage.  They wanted to play with them in the bathtub, so I told them they had to wash them first.  They had so much fun washing them in the kitchen sink!  I couldn't believe how busy that kept them! : )

Sunday... first day of Spring.  Pretty gloomy.  The weather was gloomy as were the events that took place this morning in our city.  A police officer was killed while in duty... his family and friends are in our in prayers.  I do not know the details of what happened, but sounds like there are many heroes... thank you to all who help keep us safe.

Rachel has been having a lot of fun writing lately.  This weekend she wrote her own song and she was very proud!  The lyrics are below and she was singing to the tune of "Where is Thumbkin."  It was so much fun watching and listening to her think of, sing and finally write the words.

1 2 3, 1 2 3
I can count, I can count
I can count to 3, I can count to 3
I can count, I can count

Eli is back to school tomorrow after being on Spring break for over a week.  He's very excited to go back to see his friends.  And, he's taking his salamanders back.  We'll miss them... they were fun!

Keep smiling... : )
