hopscotch and yet another showing

We had another showing today... they've been frequent lately, which I guess is a good thing.  Just wishing something would come from them.  That is something besides a VERY clean house. : )  I have definitely learned something from this home selling experience.  I've learned that I will never ask to see a home (for a personal showing) unless I'm very interested or planning to make a decision soon.  If it's nothing serious... meaning that I'm not going to buy a house in the next couple weeks then I will wait for an open house.

So, as mentioned above... we had a showing today, which I was excited about.  Well, the feedback we received was that they were looking for more privacy.  Our realtor responded to their realtor with the fact that we did plant some nice evergreen trees in the backyard to help with that very issue.  My question is... did they not drive by our home before scheduling the showing?  Because it's quite obvious if you drive by, or if you're at all familiar with our neighborhood (which a realtor in the area should be), that there are neighbors and we're not in the middle of the woods.  Just frustrating that I spent all morning cleaning to have someone come and say that.  Now, if someone would have that feedback after coming through an open house... that's different.

Good news (I think) is we have another showing on Friday morning.  I think we can keep the house halfway clean until then, so it won't be as big of a project to get it in showing cleanliness again.  I just feel terrible not giving the kids my attention when spending the time to clean the house really well in preparation for a showing... especially when it ends with the feedback I got today.

Okay, onto better topics... ones that make me SMILE!

We did get McDonald's for lunch because of the showing, so that was a nice treat.  It was me, Eli, Kate, Maggie, the three salamanders and a container of crickets.  We ate in the car with the windows down... great memories!  I fed Kate her squash in the car and we did have a spill.  She gave the spoon a good swat and we had squash all over her face, covering her hand, on the car seat in a couple different places and on her jeans.  Cleaned up fine, so not a big issue.  Actually made me laugh!

We also played our first hopscotch of the year today!  The kids had a lot of fun outside again... I can't wait for Spring!  It officially starts on Sunday... yippee!! : )

  2. Keeping a house "show-worthy" clean is no fun with a house of kids. I feel your pain, it sucks to say "Go Play" :( I try to make up for it, as you look like you do too! They have to sell soon . . . right? So frustrating!
