ice cream, surprise party and peas

So, the title of this post is a very odd combination of things... but, all things that I have to talk about. : )

We'll start with the peas.

[my shopping list]

Rachel loves peas and not just any peas... specifically Del Monte brand peas!  I think she might start to go through withdrawal soon, because this is what the shelves at a couple places have looked like the last few times we've gone shopping.

[and Target]

Little Ms. Picky won't eat a different brand.  One time I tried buying a different brand of carrots and as soon as she took a bite she said, "are these different carrots??"  How could she tell?!  They do have a "no salt" version of Del Monte peas... have considered getting those and adding salt.  We'll give it a few more days. ; )

Surprise Party: for Mrs. Millage
We went to a surprise retirement party this evening for Eli's preschool teacher.  He had her for two years and she was a super neat teacher.  She is so caring and loving... just an overall great person.  She is retiring this year, so a few parents organized a surprise party for her.  It turned out to be so nice and she was surprised, which is the best part!  You just never know when so many people are invited and so many kids know about it. ; )  I big THANK YOU to those that were involved in putting this together... it was great!  We had to leave early because Rachel had piano, but we enjoyed the time we got to spend there.  Wishing Mrs. Millage all the best in her retirement! : )

I tried to capture the surprise, but it was difficult from where we were standing.  Still wanted to share.

[here is Eli writing his note for Mrs. Millage... he ended up putting a colored in red heart on the bottom, too - loved it!]

On the way home from the party and Rachel's piano lesson we stopped at A&W for some ice cream.  It was fun and the kids were very excited!  Nate was getting hungry, so we ended up driving home shortly after we got our ice cream.  I was going to get a video of Kate eating her ice cream cone all by herself, which I did... but, I also got some funny stuff from Eli and Rachel.  Doesn't take long for the craziness to begin!  They were so funny!  One of Eli's first couple funny faces just cracks me up!

Please don't mind Nate crying in the background.  This was less than three hours from his last feeding... really, Nate?  You can't even wait three hours?  I think it's almost time for cereal!!!

Keep smiling!! : )
