Before we left for school we realized our birds left their nest. We were almost late for Rachel's last day of school with all the excitement! I had to take a few pictures quick, because I wasn't sure if they'd be around when we got back.
Also, got a little video. It's cute how the Mom seems to explain flying to the baby. But, it made me so nervous that they were having their flying lesson in the middle of the road. : )
We did see one of the birds a few times throughout the day... not sure where the other one took off to. Here it is getting a worm from it's Mom and also contemplating trying to swim. : ) Glad it chose to jump off onto the grass.
Later in the morning we didn't see the bird, so I gave Eli the video camera and told him to look for it. This video cracks me up, so I had to share. Mike didn't get as big of a kick out of it as I did... so, sorry if it's boring! I love the shakiness of the camera and also how he runs back to the house after he finds the bird and it flies when he's right by it. Love how you can hear his breathing get heavier with excitement and his little laugh as he gets close to the house. Kind of wish I hadn't told him how to stop the recording.
Rachel and Eli were also very excited to play with their friends Ellie and Jack this afternoon! They got to hang out in their recently finished basement. Thanks Andy for taking them for awhile. Mike and I got more packing done and also emptied out the attic above the garage. There was a lot up there, so felt good to get it all down and sorted... junk, Goodwill and to move. We're getting there!
: )
