birthday treat, Eli sick, Evie and great conversation with Eli

Monday: Rachel Birthday Treat
We had lots of leftover cake and cupcakes from Rachel's party, but I still had the joy of making cupcakes Sunday for Rachel to take to school Monday.  She was very excited to take her birthday treat and to wear a new outfit to school! : )

Tuesday: Eli home from school
Eli got sick Monday night, so was home on Tuesday.  He didn't feel well most of the day and pretty much hung out in his room almost all day.  I had the baby monitor set up in there, so he could just say my name if he needed something.  After several trips upstairs I made a new request.  I told him that when he says my name to also say what he wants.  Eliminated a few trips up and down, but still a great leg workout day for me! ; )

Wednesday: Evie
We watched Evie today.  She is such a sweetheart and is starting to feel really comfortable at our house.  Yeah!  She and Kate play really well together and she's starting to get used to the noise level in our house.  It's so much fun!  Kate took out a headband, which made me get my camera out.  As long as it was out, and I had kids that were cooperating, I took a few more pictures.  Evie was my little model!

[Evie didn't have a nap today and was getting sleepy this afternoon... I just sat with her for awhile ~ good times]

[they're both looking!]

Evie is usually afraid of Nate.  He's very loud, unstable and usually dripping from his nose and/or mouth... I guess I can understand why a little girl might be afraid of him. ; )  Today she was so good around Nate and wasn't afraid at all.  This was after I was done taking their pictures... all of a sudden Nate laid on Evie's lap.  It was so cute.  The look she gave me was like... what is he doing???  Cute!

A couple funny pictures of Kate and Eli.  Love the angle of the pictures... makes their heads look even bigger. ; )

And, this is what's kept me busy the last several days!  I had a few big orders... so much fun!

And, just a fun Instagram picture from around the house.

A couple more things...

Conversation with Eli
In the car tonight (on our way home from Eli's 7:40pm haircut... yeah late!) Eli asked me about the 80s.  No idea what sparked this conversation, but it was a good one.

And, yes, I did leave myself a voice memo so I could remember this exact conversation! ; )

Eli: Back in the 80s did everything cost a nickel?
Me: No, everything didn't cost a nickel, but things were much cheaper.  You could go to the store and get candy for 1 penny.  You could go with 10 pennies and you could get 10 pieces of candy.  Now you go with 10 pennies and you can't even get one piece of candy.
Eli: Now you go with a dollar and can only get something little.
Eli: I wish it was back in the 80s, because then you wouldn't have to go to school.
Me: Well, I lived in the 80s and I went to school.
Eli: You did, where?
Me: Here in Fond du Lac.
Eli: You were in Fond du Lac in the 80s?  Were you ever in this area?
Me: Where, here?
Eli: Yeah, right here?
Me: Well, yeah, but this road wasn't here.
And, on and on...

Wow... made me feel old!!!!

Quote from Everybody Loves Raymond, which I can relate to!!
This was on tonight as I was working on some flowers.  I really wasn't watching it at all, but this line caught my attention! : )
Dr. Nora: So, tell me, what's it like having three kids under the age of five?
Ray: Well, I like to tell people it's kind of like a frat house, yeah: nobody sleeps, everything's broken, and there's a lot of throwing up.

Keep smiling!!
