Wednesday 9.5.12
Eli's first day of Kindergarten and riding the big bus! He was excited, which I was happy about. I think it really helped that Rachel was on the bus with him in the morning and she could help him get to the right line on the playground. Who knows... maybe he would have been totally fine without her, too. : ) Pictures to come! Took some outside by the front door... Eli had a nice smile ~ that's been hard to get lately. Haha!
I was happy he was excited to go to school and hoped when he got off the bus after school he was still all smiles. Was hoping he had a good day and wanted to go back Thursday. Well, he looked happy getting off the bus. As we walked home I asked him, "So, did you have fun? Want to go back tomorrow?" Thankfully, he said "Yes." But, I did say... "Just so you know, even if you said 'No' you'd still have to go back." : )
Thursday 9.6.12
Rachel and Eli went to school and then Kate, Nate and I met friends at the Little Farmer. It was a great day for the Little Farmer... and it wasn't busy at all. Very nice! We hung out, the kids went on the swings and I had a latte... which was so good! We were there about two hours, which I still can't believe. Great time! Then home to give the kids lunch, naps and I got some cleaning done. Great day!
Friday 9.7.12
Another school day... first day without plans when both kids were in school. Spent the day picking up, organizing "stuff" that was "stuffed" in the cupboard in the kitchen, cleaning, making cookies for a bake sale, trying to teach Kate to do jumping jacks (not on video yet) and trying to teach Nate to clap... he can now! Great day!
We also went to the Fondy football game. Mike had to do the chains, so the kids and I met grandma, Christy and Olivia there. Rachel and Eli also met some friends at the game. They had a great time! We made it until the end of the game, which I can't believe. What a great night for football!
Saturday 9.8.12
No big plans this weekend... very nice. We went to Fondue Fest, which was fun. Perfect day for it! Got some goodies to eat and just walked around. The kids really weren't interested in much in the kids area this year. We lasted a couple hours. After that Rachel went with grandma to a movie... she was so excited! Then I took Eli to grandma and grandpa's house for a sleepover after. Rachel and Eli were so excited to have a sleepover. Thanks Steve and Mary!! : )
So, Mike and I have been home with Kate and Nate all afternoon/night. Feels very different around here. It's definitely a lot quieter, but I do miss Rachel and Eli. Mike made a comment that it feels like six years ago. It kind of did, but I said that when we had two kids six years ago I'm sure we weren't this relaxed. It's funny how simple things seem with two when you have four. But, when you just have two... two seems like a lot. : )
One of these days I'll have a ton of pictures to share... looking forward to that day.
But, I do have a video of Nate clapping to share. Enjoy!
Keep smiling!
