Brewer Game and Land Rover Event

Brewer Game with Eli
I went to the Brewer game with Eli yesterday evening.  Very impromptu, but so fun.  I almost turned down the opportunity... glad I didn't!  Thanks, Mom... but, sorry Dad wasn't feeling well.

We had a great time.  It's not too often it's just me and Eli for something.  He was very good and we saw a fun game!  It was 9-0 until the top of the 9th when the Astros scored 5 runs... yikes!  I realized he had never had or scene a licorice rope... I felt bad about that.  He wanted licorice, but it was clear he had no idea how big it was going to be!  She was so surprised, but it.  It was cute.

Land Rover Event
Today we went to a Land Rover Event in Pleasant Prairie at the Halter Wildlife Hunt Club.  It was put on by Orloff Land Rover of Chicago.  Mike did some research and found out about it online.  The best part... it was free.  They even offered breakfast and lunch.  GREAT event... hopefully we can do it again the next time it's offered.

We considered not taking the kids... or at least not the little ones.  But, I've been asking people to help with the kids a lot lately and I figured why not try.  If it didn't work we just leave.  Well, we left at 7:15am and got home at about 5pm... long day, but VERY fun!!

Mike is a Jeep guy, but we knew we could never fit all of our kids in a Wrangler to off-road, so thought the Land Rover would be another option.  I didn't think we'd get everyone out on a trail already, but it worked out really well.  Glad we did it.  They all had fun.  Kate and Nate even took some naps while on our bumpy trail ride... could not believe that.  Rachel and Eli thought everything was pretty neat, too.

Here are some pictures of the fun!  And, some videos. : )

[some of the Land Rovers at the event... I'd say there were about 25 maybe.  I'm not good at estimating...]

[ours was definitely one of the oldest... but, probably had the least amount of miles. ; )]

[off-roading!]

[it was a beautiful day and so pretty out!]

[windy!]

[taking a little break]

[they even had fishing for the kids... such a great event!]

So, it was amazing how some people could take their very new and expensive vehicles on an off-road trail ride.  There were several newer Range Rovers... just crazy to me.  Some of the owners would just beat on the vehicles, too.  Some of the courses could be timed... but, we always declined to be timed for several reasons.  We had kids in the car, it wasn't good for the car and, really, it's not fun to go fast.

Some people were so crazy... and even though this guy wasn't in our group, my guess is he didn't make good choices.  Here is a vehicle the rolled while doing one of the timed courses.  Guess they went just a little too fast.  Lots of damage here.  The guys won a $100 gift certificate for his performance, but I'm thinking it wasn't worth it.  Just makes me sad to see this vehicle so beat up.

So, we leave on a positive note... I'll include the videos here!

Keep smiling!
