I decided to go visit my sister yesterday. It was a very spurt of the moment decision and so happy we did it! She has done a lot of work reorganizing and decorating a couple rooms and I wanted to check them out. It's always nice to chat and hang out with her and the kids really enjoy playing, too.
Eli wanted to trick/surprise Rachel again, so we didn't tell her we were going there. When we picked her up from the bus we told her we had to go shopping. She was not that happy. She asked where we were going and I somehow ignored her and she didn't ask anymore... until we got to Oshkosh. Then she started asking more questions. I was able to delay my responses until we pulled into their driveway. She was very surprised and so excited that we were visiting them!
I feel so lucky to have such a great sister. We have a lot of the same interests and values... and our kids are very close in age, so we have a lot to talk about. Her daughter (Abby) is 8 months older than Rachel and her son (Ryan) is 8 weeks older than Eli. She doesn't have a child close to Kate, but is expecting in July... so, that baby will be about 6 months younger than Nate. We've been lucky that the kids that are close to the same age are the same gender... now we wonder what her next baby will be. She's not finding out, which is fun! Not sure what pattern it's going to follow... will it be a girl because my third was a girl or will it be a boy because it's close in age to Nate????? We'll find out in July! : )
We got to hang out for over two hours, which was nice... a nice change for a weeknight. It almost felt like a weekend!
Rachel: Tooth #6 GONE!
Rachel finally lost her sixth tooth yesterday. This one seemed to hang on almost as long as her first loose tooth. I thought it was going to come out a week or so ago, but just kept hanging on. The tooth fairy didn't hide Rachel's dollar this time... it was right under her pillow. ; )
Photo Shoot
I took some pictures of Kate and Nate recently that I thought I'd share. Again, it's not that I like these two anymore than Rachel and Eli... they just like to have their picture taken ~ or at least aren't telling me they don't like it! ; )
[Kate with a great smile]
[and another one]
[this is picture #1 of a minor freak-out...]
She has been doing this every once in awhile lately. If something doesn't go how she wants she seems to almost lose control of her body and it gets almost like a noodle... sometimes she actually falls down. I find it to be kind of comical, but have to try not to laugh.

[not sure what was up with this tongue - but, cute]
[finally a real smile... but, blurry ~ darn. still cute.]
Not sure if anyone knew this, but Nate can juggle! I'm sure you've seen these done before... he was sleeping on the floor, so I tried. I had absolutely NO idea what to do... this was all I could think of ~ lame, I know!! : )
Have to share the conversation I just had with Rachel tonight... she came downstairs after being in bed for about an hour. She asked what I was doing and said I was being too loud. I told her I was putting away the groceries I bought earlier, because I didn't have a chance to do it yet. Told her that sometimes the time after they go to bed is the only time I have to get stuff like that done. She replied with, "well, this is the only time I have to get good sleep and I haven't been getting that lately." I told her that she could turn on her fan or radio to help cover some noise from downstairs or even shut her door. She had me shut her door more and that was it. The conversation made me laugh... she was so serious.
Spring Break...
Now is the start of the kids' SPRING BREAK... wish me luck! Just kidding (well kind of)... we are looking forward to it!! Here is how the kids decorated the white board. They had a lot of fun doing it! Rachel did most of the drawing and Eli did the coloring.
Keep smiling!! : )
