2-months old, sleepover, spelling test

Nate: 2-months old
Nate is two-months old!!!  It's hard to believe it... not sure where the time has gone!  He's doing really well and is so much fun.  We're getting lots of smiles now ~ love it!  His two-month check up is next week, so we'll see how he is on the charts.  Here are a few recent pictures.

[this is the best worst picture... his biggest smile ever, but blurry]

[here is Nate with his friend Evie... she came over with her mom on Thusrday : )]

Rachel's Birthday Sleepover
Friday night was Rachel's big sleepover!  Since her sixth birthday she's been asking if she could have some friends over for her birthday when she turned seven.  We decided to let her have a few friends spend the night and Friday worked for everyone, so we did it.  She was so, so excited!!!  She invited her cousin and two friends from school.  They all played together very well!

We opened presents first.  She got some very nice things... thanks everyone!  Next was Rocky's for some pizza... yummy!!  This group of girls is kind of crazy (although what group of 7-year-old girls isn't), so wasn't sure how they'd be in public. ; )  They actually did very well... it was nice to get out for awhile, too.

[waiting patiently for the pizza]

[funny faces!]

Realized this morning when I pulled out my camera that I didn't take any pictures of the girls last night and I was kind of bummed about that.  They played all sorts of different things and also watched a Barbie movie.  Our family loves the Barbie movies... they're all so cute.  I love them!

They went up to bed around 10pm and didn't fall asleep until close to midnight!  They all kept getting out of their beds, so finally I told them I'd have to hang out in there if they didn't stay in bed... so, yup, I was sitting on Rachel's bed on Pinterest while the girls finally started to settle down.  Was fun! : )

They all slept well once asleep and didn't get up until 6:15am.  That's about when I figured they'd get up.  Rachel's been getting up around that time lately.  So, that really isn't much sleep for them.  I heard from a couple of the moms today that some of the girls got much needed naps.  Not Rachel though.  I thought for sure she was going to be a crabby mess today, but she was really good!

[pancakes for breakfast]

The girls played outside this morning. It was windy and a bit chilly, but they had a lot of fun!

So, the sleepover was a success!

Eli & Kate - Sleepovers
Eli got to sleep at his cousin's house, so he didn't have to hang out by all the girls.  He had fun until he got sick this morning there.  Poor guy.  So, Mike went to get him and then he hung out in the basement most of the day.  He was feeling better later in the day... just hoping it clears up tomorrow.  And, also hoping nobody else catches it.  Really don't want another round of sickness to happen.

Kate slept at my parents' house.  I'm so glad we didn't have her here during the sleepover.  The girls were loud, which is expected.  I would have felt bad trying to get them to be somewhat quiet after Kate went to bed.  I also think my parents had a good time with Kate.  She really is good entertainment!

Rachel - School Stuff
I have to share this... this was the envelope for Rachel's report card.  I read it when she gave it to me "I am going to second grade" and she immediately said "at least I think I am."  Too cute!

I'm also very proud of Rachel for getting a 100% on her spelling test last week!  She is not one to study her words at home.  I really try to make it fun, but she doesn't have much interest and I never feel she's focused.  I need to get better at making it more fun.  But, last week she got all of them right... I was so excited and proud of her!  She was pretty excited, too.  Hopefully now that she knows she can do it, she'll be more excited to practice.

Looks like we're going to have really nice weather coming up... I can't wait!!!  Hope everyone is able to enjoy it! : )

Don't forget to SPRING AHEAD!  I was trying to explain the whole clock change thing to Rachel and I don't think I did a good job.  I need to look online for Daylight Savings for Dummies! : )

Keep smiling!
