As I walked by this picture yesterday I decided it needed to be temporarily changed. Under my new text it says "The kids are making memories." : )
I had no idea where to start, so decided to attack the laundry room cupboards first. Lots of miscellaneous stuff there, which I knew going into the task. Felt good to get that emptied out.
The kids have been very excited to help pack. They helped me go through some holiday decorations last night and helped me test xmas lights. They are very anxious and willing to help. It's going to be a challenge keeping them as busy as they want to be... I can tell already. Love that they want to help, but there are just some things they can't help with. Tonight we put their books and games in boxes... they had a lot of fun with that. Thanks Aunt Christy for all the boxes!
I need to make sure I take breaks from packing throughout the day to do some fun things with Eli. Would not be fun for him if I was going through things all day for the next month... I understand that. So, today we played some Wii... he beat me. I choked under pressure in the 10th frame!

We also did some coloring and we shot some hoops outside. The girls had fun watching us!
Plan to do some more packing tomorrow... I've been in the packing mood, so figure I should keep going! Have a number of boxes already to take to Goodwill. I'm in the purging mood, too - that means less stuff to pack up and move! Figure if I haven't used it in several years, it's probably not needed anymore.
Today Rachel had a field trip to a local farm. She had a lot of fun! She got to pet a calf and see all sorts of fun farm animals. She really smelled like a farm when she got home! So, bathes were first on the agenda once she was home from school.
At some point soon I'm going to have to shift focus from packing to cleaning and preparing for Kate's party on Saturday... : )
