Spring Break - Day #2

Our day started out with dentist appointments for me and Rachel.  Eli came along and Kate stayed at Sheri's... thanks Sheri!  Rachel was so excited for the dentist... they both get excited for the dentist.  It's actually funny how excited they get.  Love it though!  No cavities for either of us... yippee!

A few of the other things we did today...

Box Tops - We got the box tops all ready for Rachel to take to school.  We usually wait until we get a bunch collected and then we make a big project of it.  Eli helped out, too.  They have so much fun cutting and gluing!

Creative Houses - This is something that was started some time ago, but they worked on them more today.  Today we put steps inside, which you can't see and they each got to add another diaper box - thanks to Kate. : )

Painting in the Rain (or Snow) - I saw this project online.  It said to do with rain, but I figured wet, slushy snow would work just was well.  The kids both worked really hard getting their pictures colored. I told them the more color they used the neater the project would turn out.  They were finally ready to set them outside and we looked out and... the snow had stopped!  Really?!  I looked at the radar to see when it would start again and looked as though it was just a short break.  Kind of funny the timing of it!  There was just a little break... the only time during the day... and when we wanted to take our pictures outside to get snowed on.  Ended up being too windy after the break, so we'll have to save our pictures for another day.  Oh well... we tried!

[see the very small area of no precipitation right over us... cracks me up!]

Pictures in the Snow - Grandma and Grandpa are vacationing down in Alabama and having wonderful weather.  They've been sending us pictures of them on the beach and enjoying the beautiful weather.  We thought it'd be funny to send them some of what we're enjoying... here was what Mike came up with!  Love the idea!  Couldn't believe the kids actually went out there in their suits!  When we first mentioned the idea Rachel just about cried, because she didn't want to.  We told her she didn't have to if she didn't want to.  We talked about it some more and then all of a sudden Eli said he would do it.  I was not expecting that at all!  Usually if Rachel says no to something there's no way he'll go against what she says.  Guess he felt like being independent today!  Once he said he wanted to then Rachel got more excited about it.  They ended up having a lot of fun with it!

Kate and the Flash - Kate was being really funny tonight and I got some of it on video.  She was blinking really funny and just being plain old goofy!  I was instigating her silliness with the flash from the camera.

Today ended up being a busy, fun day!  We colored and played Barbies and cars to take up some of the time as well.  Seemed to be doing something constantly.  That is why the next quote is a little hard to hear.

I think the hardest words to hear your child say at the end of the day are, "Mom, what did we do today?"  Yes, one of my kids said this tonight...

Keep smiling! : )
