sleepover!

I should probably have my sister write this entry since she had my kids for a lot of the weekend!  Thanks so much Sheri and Tim!

I did get some pictures to share (THANKS SHERI!) and also a list of some things they did.  Rachel was telling her teacher she was having a sleepover and her teacher suggested she write a list of the things they do.  I can only imagine how long Rachel was talking about this sleepover to her class... and I'm guessing she'll have lots to tell them about it tomorrow.  Thanks, also, Sheri for helping Rachel make a list. : )

[like this one, too]

The main reason for the sleepover was a surprise birthday party we had for a good friend.  Happy Birthday Monica!!  The party was a successful surprise and a lot of fun!  It was at Rossario's in Monona.  We got to "eat on the board," which was quite an experience.  They basically served the spaghetti in the middle of the table... directly on the table.  You then scooped the spaghetti onto the area right in front of you.  No plates used at all!  Thankfully, we were able to use a fork!  It was a neat experience... something I've never seen or done before!  Nice night out with friends and we were home from Madison by midnight, which is amazing... thanks Gena for driving. : )

What is the sign of a successful and fun sleepover????  Kids that need naps the following day! : )  I went to get the kids in Oshkosh late morning.  We got home at lunchtime and after eating lunch we decided it was a great day to fly a kite.  Really, I guess, what day is not in our neighborhood... it always seems windy here.  We attempted to do the kite thing, but it ended up that Mike and I had more fun than the kids.  Rachel and Eli both had crying fits on two different occasions for really no reason at all, which made me realize naps were necessary today!  We had Aunt Cara's birthday party late afternoon and we didn't want crabby kids there.  The kids actually did take naps, gave them quick bathes and then off to the party!

Something kind of funny happened after Kate's bath this afternoon!  So, I've been noticing that Kate always seems to go potty in her diaper almost immediately after having a bath.  Today I decided to sit her on the toilet after her bath.  I was holding her on the toilet... mostly just for a laugh... but, she actually went a little potty!!!!  It was so funny!  Here is the picture Mike was able to quick snap... a little blurry, but I think good enough to get some smiles! : )

We got to the party and Grandma was all ready for the annual Easter Egg Hunt!  I'm so mad, because I forgot all about it.  Two things I'm bummed about... 1) I forgot my camera and 2) Eli had on cowboy boots.  He is borrowing the boots from his cousin Ryan for his Wild, Wild, West unit at school and wanted to wear them today.  I meant to grab other shoes in case they played outside and, of course, forgot.  I love the boots, but they don't make for good Easter Egg Hunt pictures... or maybe they do?! : )  Will post some of the pictures Grandma took when I get them.

Party for Cara was very nice!  Always nice to spend time with family.  Happy Birthday Aunt Cara! : )

Very fun weekend... and, clean house.  Yes, we had another showing yesterday.  One of these have to work out, don't they?  Two benefits of having a showing... 1) clean house and 2) cookies!

Keep smiling! : )
