They had fun. They got to check out Steve's friend's shanty and also got to go to a check in spot to see a sturgeon that was speared.
While they were out on the ice I went to Ryan's basketball tournament. Rachel thought about coming with, but decided to stay home. She had a ton of reading to get done last weekend. She wanted to sleep at Abby's on Saturday night and wanted to get all her reading done before then... so, she didn't have to worry about it. Her ability to be disciplined is admirable. As I was sitting at Ryan's game I got this text from her... love her! If the other kids can be even just half as task-oriented and organized as her I will be happy.
Yesterday was Valentine's Day. Kids had parties at school, so that meant they all had a ton to take to school... treats, Valentine boxes, etc. And, I always wonder if I forgot to send something I said I'd bring. That's the worse feeling! But, as far as I know... I didn't forget anything!
Mike and I even went out for about an hour for apps and a drink for Valentine's Day. Very nice having Rachel and Eli older now and able to be home for short amounts of time... definitely life-changing. :)
[2018]
[2013... five years makes quite a difference]
[These are the flowers Mike got for me, Rachel and Kate... so sweet.]
[Nate found this hat and his sunglasses in the morning... he looks like such a little fisherman here to me. Seeing him like this got me excited for Summer!!!!]
[I helped in Kate's class for their party... it was fun!]
[This is what Kate made for the family... she was so excited to give it to us.]
[Finally did this with Kate and Nate last night. It was fun! Too bad it's 41 degrees out now... not going to last very long!]
[Nate got a little gift from Rachel's friend, Sophie, for Valentine's day. Nate has had a crush on her for years. Ha! We have fun teasing him about her.]
Keep smiling!
