When I wasn't making this a priority I was telling myself... "what would I have even posted about?" Well, turns out, had I actually took a step back and realized what we were experiencing... I could have posted about a ton of things I'm sure. Am I bummed I have a period of time with nothing documented... definitely. But, so happy I didn't let that hiatus make me quit. Feels good to be doing this again. It's helping me take a step back frequently... and live in the moment.

[This is how I get Kate + Nate's stuff ready each morning. Definitely helps make getting ready to leave for the bus smoother. My dream has always been to be a mom and doing things like this genuinely make me happy.]
The sun shines in our kitchen differently depending on the time of year. Rachel mentioned yesterday that it's my favorite time of year... I love when the kids' shadows are on the cabinet when they're eating at the kitchen table.

Rachel had a school assembly on Thursday, which was their last Theisen basketball game of the season. She was so nervous. The team they played came early and they scrimmaged during the school day... with the whole school watching. Neat idea!
I didn't make it, but grandma and grandpa did. Steve taught at Theisen for many years and when they found out he was going to be there I guess they decided to recognize him (and Mary) for all their years in the FDL School District. Super nice! They got this picture of Rachel with them, too... love it!

After Rachel's game we ate (pizza, of course!) and then went to the last Fondy Boys' home game. Grandpa met us there, too. The opposing team had an area to keep track of scoring on their roster. Great idea. Grandpa explained to Nate how to keep track of the score by player. Nate loved it! Wish we would have thought of doing this before the last game of the season!! I'm going to have to make sheets for him to use at Eli and Rachel's next tournaments. He's going to love it!

[Got this for Mike for Valentine's Day since he loves banana Laffy Taffy... but, he said it was too big and didn't want it. Lucky for me and Kate. We didn't have a problem with it. :)]
[Got an alert on my Yahoo Sports app that this was on this afternoon! Thankful for that app and the ability to set up favorite teams, so I don't miss games... and that baseball is starting!!!]
Today was hat day at Lakeshore and all money raised went to a family that is going through a very difficult health situation right now... and they happen to be in our extended family. It was pretty amazing to see the school come together and raise what I heard was more than $1,000 for a sweet family that means so much to us.
After I took the hat picture we went in to grab Rachel. I like to get pictures of all the kids every once in awhile. They are fun to look back at.
[Especially love them for their willingness to still do "a funny one" when asked.]
Kate's learning about opinion writing in school and started to sing a song they sang in class tonight, but she couldn't remember all the words. Rachel helped her find it online. Loved these lines in the song and hearing Kate sing them almost made me cry. Yes, really.
