Rachel had a home basketball game last week... and I got a couple pictures of the little kids there. I get too into the actual games and forget to take pictures of Rachel during the game.
[Kate on a graffiti wall at Theisen.]
[And, Nate, READING at the basketball game... yes, READING! I couldn't tell him he couldn't bring his book in when asked.]
We had a cousins sleepover last Thursday since the elementary school kids had off. Here they all are checking out Rachel's mouse trap car. She's having a lot of fun with the project and doing so well with it. Proud of her! Now, if it'll just go 20 feet when tested!
Friday was Rachel's birthday. Both kids had basketball practice, so we planned to go to her choice (Olive Garden) on Saturday after Eli's tournament in Lomira.
[Did do some decorating though.]
[Can't believe she's a teenager now! So proud of her for many reasons, but mostly for her ability to brighten a room just by being in it.]
[The coaches (including Nate) with the team during a timeout.]
[They took first place... proud! Only thing I was disappointed about was when I said "funny picture" they all just looked at me like I was crazy. I'll get them to do a "funny picture" at some point!]
Our plan was to go to our friends' house for a couple hours after the tournament and then head up to Oshkosh to Olive Garden. Well, we weren't expecting snow, which we got. So, decided to stay at our friends' house and go to Olive Garden after Rachel's tournament on Sunday. Weather was going to be better. Not worth driving on the questionable roads.
We watched college basketball at our friends' house, looked at amazing art, played Wii and had a dance party!!! Such a great time!!
[Nate almost had to leave with their Wii game!]
[dance party!]
Because a picture doesn't do it justice... here's a short video ~ https://youtu.be/f1e4FMCscd0.
Sunday was Rachel's basketball tournament in Fond du Lac. Very nice to have a home tournament!!
[best concession food... in my opinion!]
[Nate gets lots of coloring done on the weekends while at basketball tournaments.]

[When you're at the gym for about 8 hours you get creative with entertainment.]
[These boys were watching Rachel's game and I had to get up to take their picture. Felt silly doing it and knew they wouldn't be excited about it either... but, SO HAPPY I did! One of my favorite pictures ever, I think.]
[The girls took second place!!! Lost to Kimberly by just two points in the championship... actually, very proud of them for that!! They played so well all day!!!]
After basketball we went to Olive Garden and then back home to finally eat Rachel's cake. Super fun weekend!
Monday was full of all sorts of fun, too...
Rachel was drawing a hen for school and Kate tried to draw one, too. It was longer than a regular hen, so she called it a wiener hen. OMG... we were laughing so hard!
[And, nothing new... Nate falls and hits his nose on the ground. No idea how he didn't catch himself. Just waiting for two black eyes... now that the one he had is almost gone. This kid!]
[Eli got some mail that made us laugh! Ashbelly!!! Ha!]
[Hair-braiding, garbage-playing, olympics-watching kids...]
Tonight, Rachel had a jump rope show at an elementary school for a 4K night. They did really well! Nate brought his notebook along. He wanted to write about "how to play baseball." They are talking about How To books in school and he's been talking about it all the time. He was so excited when I found a notebook for him to bring along. No idea what's happening to this kid, but I'm loving it!
[Recently got some new vintage plates and bowls and am so excited about them. This picture also shows my gourmet meal tonight. Leftover pizza, corn dog, corn and apples. Ugh.]
[Said "funny picture" and this happened. Nate basically put his face on his corn dog!]
Keep smiling!
