Thankfully, the kids were really pretty good at night. No huge stories to share. The first night Nate slept in the pack n play. We have a pop-up camper, so it's very crowded in there with the pack n play. It's an obstacle course for anyone who has to go the bathroom at night. Nate woke up about six times saying my name. Each time I rubbed his back and he fell back asleep. So, didn't have to actually get up with him at all.
I was hoping for a few less interruptions at night Saturday and decided to sleep with Nate on the smaller bed. Thought it would also be easier if anyone had to use the bathroom at night. Nate didn't go to bed as well, but once he fell asleep he never woke up. Kate did though because of the rain. It rained pretty hard a few times. I told her she could sleep with me if it thundered, but with just rain she could stay where she was. I didn't want her by me and Nate for fear Nate would wake up. That would mean both of them would be awake and could be a nightmare.
So, really, the nights weren't bad at all! And, the days were pretty nice. It was hot, so we were at the lake or pool pretty much the entire time! We were with a couple friends and their kids… the kids all played so well together. So fun to see!
Rachel and Eli kept busy in the deeper pool and big slide and Nate and Kate hung out in the kiddie pool. It was perfect for them. There was a small slide that Kate went down hundreds of times probably. She loved it!
It stormed Saturday afternoon for awhile. It came out of nowhere! We were swimming and all of a sudden it started to sprinkle. It was still sunny, so just thought it was something that was going to pass. Then there was a crack of lightening! Kate and Nate were a little freaked out, but we managed. :)
There was a glow parade and dance party. We hung out there for awhile… that is until we lost Nate for about 15 seconds. Then we left! He wasn't into staying in the stroller and he was just wandering! He smacked Eli in the face with a glow star wand and then after he got yelled at for that he took off. Stinker!!
Of course, I didn't take as many pictures as I wish I did. Here is what I have…
[kids were trying to sleep on our way there to make the drive go faster :)]
[the kids had fun catching minnows! i tried, but was unsuccessful.]
We got home on Sunday and had supper at the Zimmermans'. It was nice to chill there before unpacking and doing all the camping laundry. :)
[Kate pushing Olivia on the swing… love]
Just a few more random pictures...
[the boys looking at the pretty sky!]
[Eli helped me get Nate to nap… after Nate climbed out of his crib before taking his nap. Hoping Nate climbing out of the crib doesn't become the new thing.]
[my favorite song is named one of the most annoying songs of all-time… what?!]
I love Rachel for so many reasons! Here is a good one! We went shopping and while I was getting some clothes to try on she changed the home picture on my phone. So, when we were walking through the mall and I checked my phone to see what time it was I saw this! Love her!!!
Thank you to mom and dad and Christy and Olivia for watching Maggie while we were gone. It was just too hot for us to take her and we didn't want her at the kennel with the heat either. So, thanks!!!
Keep smiling!
