parade, wizard waggle, Spring, Nate golfing...

I've been slacking with the updates, so figured I should just sit down and do one! ; )

Started by adding some recent pictures... I'll start with them and go from there.

[took this picture the other day... love displaying the kids' artwork ~ it makes me smile!]

We went to the St. Patrick's Day parade with the Zimmermans.  It was a bit colder than last year, but still fun.  The kids got some slushy candy!  It was a very nice parade.  After the parade we went to Christy and Olivia's house for some good food.  Thanks, Christy!

Just a few random pictures...

[I felt the need to take a picture of this... it's Kate's toast... thought it was funny how she nibbled these!]

[Nate's hands... : )]

I watched Evie on the first day of Spring.  They were so kind to bring this touch of Spring... thank you Hoffmans!!

Where's Evie????

There she is!!!

Wizard Waggle
Rachel participated in the Wizard Waggle this year.  The Skippers help put it on, so I got to help at the event.  It was a great learning experience for us both.  We really weren't sure what to expect.  They had three different events the grade-school kids could participate in and they were given awards based on their age group performance.  Rachel thought it was pretty fun to get some ribbons.

It was great for her to do this.  I could tell she was pretty nervous.  She enjoys doing the shows... they're fun.  I could tell she wasn't as comfortable with the competitive jumping rope.  It's something she'll get used to I'm sure.  She said she had fun!  Maybe next year she can get some of her school friends to join her... now that we understand what it is we'll try to recruit participants! : )

[Here is the picture that Eli made for Rachel in school the day of the event (he was so excited to give it to her) and the ribbons she won.]

I'm signed up to run a half marathon in Chicago mid-May.  That means I had to start training last week if I wanted to have at least 10 weeks to prepare.  Well, the weather has been cooperating so far.  Not the warmest weather, but the snow/sleet/rain has held off when I've had to run.  I have had to deal with some snow drifts and wind, but it's doable.  I'd much rather run in cold than hot.  The sun is feeling warmer and the days are getting longer - yippee!

[drifts!]

Here is a video of Nate.  I took it because he looked so funny in his tight onsie!  But, then he grabbed the golf club and was trying so hard to hit the coin with it.  Not sure what he's trying to play... hockey or soccer?? : )

The other day Eli had this great quote... "Mom, whenever Kate looks down when she says 'first' it looks like she has two chins."  This cracks me up, because the way she moves her mouth and pushes her chin down when saying the word - she really does appear to have a double-chin.  Love it!

Keep smiling!
