I once heard something about enjoying the time spent waiting for a train instead of getting annoyed by it and I think about whenever I see a train. Today, my mom was over and she let me out to run errands on my own. It's much quicker that way! : )
I took the less busy way to the other side of town, which means I took the chance that I'd get stopped by a train. I saw the train ahead and had time to take another route to by-pass being stopped by the train. It did mean driving out of my way and probably taking about the same amount of time to get to my destination. The only difference... if I continued on my original route I'd have a few minutes of quiet in the car with nothing to do. If I'd by-pass being stopped by the train I'd be driving the entire time.
I decided to continue on my original route and enjoy the quiet time where I had nothing to do. All I could do was sit there. No piles of laundry or dishes staring at me. It was very nice... only a few minutes, but it was nice. I think more people need to just enjoy moments like that when they can instead of being frustrated that they're stopped. In the fast-paced world today I think people need to enjoy these moments they're given... so, next time... don't get annoyed ~ just enjoy! : )
Do-It-All STARS Basketball Club
Eli is in a basketball club and tonight they got to perform at half-time during the Springs vs. WLA game. It was very neat and the kids all seemed to have a great time! Thank you to all who were involved in making it such a great experience for the kids!
I took a bunch of pictures... but, none of them turned out very well. I tried. [Thanks to my mom for watching Kate and Nate while I took Rachel and Eli to the game. Mike had to work late and I don't think there's anyway I would have survived taking all four kids!!]
We got to the game just before it started, but were able to get a spot to sit right where the STAR kids were sitting. Rachel and I were in the first row... our feet were close to the court! When we go to Fondy games we're usually up high in the bleachers. This was the closest we've ever been to the players. The players seemed much bigger and the game seemed much faster when we were close. Rachel was even a big scared being so close. I told her I would protect her if the ball came by us. She said, "Mom, I wish you still had your big belly." She thought I'd be able to protect her better with a big belly, but I told her it was good I didn't because I'm much quicker without it. ; )
[thought the kids' shoes looked neat under the bleachers]

Also, took a few pictures of Kate today. : )
Keep smiling! : )
