sledding and more

Sledding
This morning we took the kids sledding.  They have been so excited to go and had a blast!  We all went.  Kate got out of the car for a bit, but never wanted to actually go sledding.  Nate just hung out in the warm car.

Marvin the Moose
Eli got to bring home Mavin the Moose this weekend.  Each weekend someone in the class gets to bring him home.  They have to write all about what they do in a journal and then take him back on Monday.  Eli had a lot of fun with him and wanted him to join in everything this weekend.  It was cute!  What a fun thing for the kids to do - love the idea. : )

Visit from Shawna
Shawna came to meet Nate today.  It was very nice to catch up and chat with her this afternoon.  We just love visitors. : )

Kate ~ nap is necessary
Shawa came early afternoon.  I wanted to keep Kate up while she was here.  When she left Kate didn't seem that tired.  Decided to just keep her up and skip her nap today.  Thought it might make bedtime even easier if she was really tired.  When I made supper I put her in her highchair to watch me.  Well, turns out she was too tired to watch... she feel asleep pretty quickly.  Guess she still needs her nap... now  I know. : )  [on a side note... it didn't help putting her to bed either.  took two tries and she cried awhile the second try]

Playing outside
The kids also played outside more right before supper.  Here is a picture of their rosy cheeks... love them!  They just love playing in the snow.  I had to make them come in for supper... think they would have stayed out much longer.

Cups and napkins...
I volunteered to bring cups and napkins for Rachel's Valentine's Day party.  I got red cups since they're for Valentine's Day.  But, after buying I'm thinking of reconsidering!  I have a feeling all the kids will be singing the newer country song by Toby Keith "Red Solo Cup."  I told Rachel not to start singing the song, but have a feeling someone else will think of it.  Guess we'll have to see what happens.  I really don't feel like buying different ones.  Do like the idea that they're red for the holiday. : )

Keep smiling! : )
