Rachel - Piano Class
Rachel took a week long piano class through the Rec Dept. It was for an hour each day this week. It's amazing how much she learned in such a short amount of time. She really seemed to enjoy it and was so excited to practice on our keyboard when she got home each day. Loved seeing her so excited about something new.
They had a recital at the end of their class today. Here is a clip of her solo piece. I was so nervous for her, but she did great! She did seem a little relieved once her solo was done.
And, a few pictures...

We're so proud of you Rachel!!!! : )
Chalk
We finally had some nice weather this week. The kids had fun one morning doing chalk on our nice flat driveway!! It was so nice not to have the chalk roll away if they let go of a piece. : )
Kate Waving
Here is another picture of Kate waving. Still have yet to get a good wave on video, but hope to soon! It's so cute. Also, another cute picture of her looking through the window.
[it's going to be very hard to keep these doors clean!]
[love this...]
Orioles
We have orioles here usually every day and I love it! It's so fun to see them. I've been putting out oranges and grape jelly and they love it. There are so many more birds around here... it's so much fun to just sit and look out the window.
First pool venture
We took our first pool venture today. Mike had off, so it was nice he could join us. I was so excited to get Kate there. She loves taking a bath so much and splashes like crazy. She has no fear in the bathtub and doesn't mind getting splashed in the face or anything. Well, turns out she is not a fan of the pool! : ( I was so bummed! She cried from the moment her feet hit the water and there was no turning back. I tried to give her a snack and then let her walk (with my help) to the water... thinking if she went there kind of on her own she'd be okay with it. Not so much. She cried as soon as her feet hit the wet pavement. She also cried when Mike picked her up when he was wet and when she got dripped on by Eli. I'm banking on her reacting this way only because she was really tired today. Hoping for a much better experience next time. If not, it could be a long Summer.
Rachel and Eli were very brave though. They both had fun and Rachel even went down the big tube slide several times. Some with Grandma and some with Grandpa. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for getting her up there!
Olivia also was able to join in our fun day. Grandma and Grandpa brought her. She was much more brave than Kate was. Olivia had a great time in the water!
Here are some pictures of the bathing beauties... and bathing dude!

Basketball Hoop!!
Tonight I took Kate for a walk. Got home and Mike was starting to put the basketball hoop together. He cemented the base to the ground two days ago... filled the pole with cement yesterday, so today it was ready for assembly. First of all, the directions were terrible and we didn't have the same nuts/bolts they were calling for... but, we made due. It's up and sturdy now! It took us almost three hours, but we finished it. The kids were awesome while we worked on it. We didn't finish it until about 9:30pm... and all the kids were still up. It worked out well that Kate had a very late nap today. She had fun watching us put the hoop together... we are so lucky that she is such a good, content baby. She was listening to Pandora in her stroller while watching us... that was enough to keep her busy. : )
We had to video tape the first shots taken... thinking one would be made sooner than almost two minutes later. It was dark... we'll give the kids that! Here is the video of the kids shooting and the first made shot on the new basketball hoop. The lucky shot was made by Eli! We're all very excited about our new hoop that will not blow over in the wind... at least hopefully it won't!! : )
Thanks Mike for all your hard work with this project... and all the other projects that have come your way with the new house. Your time and patience is much appreciated. Love you!
