Memorial Day Weekend this year was absolutely perfect!!!! I feel like the weather is usually rainy and cold, but last weekend was anything by that!!! It was in the 90s and not windy... don't think that happened ever last Summer!
[boys got fresh haircuts for the weekend]
[let the girl who cut their hair have a little fun... Eli's might be a bit too obnoxious... will have to give more guidelines next time. ;)]
[Mike bringing the pontoon to the cottage... exciting day!]
[Eli caught a big bass the first evening we were there... so fun!!]
[love this picture Mike captured!]
Daisy was great at the cottage. She did get up early most days, but that's okay. Allowed me to enjoy the beautiful sunset at the boat landing the first morning. Simply beautiful.
[Then back to try to enjoy some coffee on the deck. Mornings at the cottage are definitely a little different with a puppy around.]
We also put the mat in the water. The kids have so much fun on that thing!!! Cousins joined us for two nights. Love when family can spend time with us! Grandparents also spent time at the cottage this weekend, too. So lucky!
[Nothing like tubing behind a pontoon! :)]
[might be my second favorite picture from the weekend... second to the next picture, which is my favorite.]
[actually talking and getting along...]
[Nate jumping in with his famous scissors kick... this one is backwards though.]
[Eli out looking for the bass that's been hanging around.]
[awe, Daisy]
[Daisy lost her first tooth at the cottage!]
Now, for one of my favorite things... the dragonflies! This happened last year and I was so happy to see it happen again this year. Not sure if it's like this all around the lake, but it was like National Geographic by our shore over the weekend. The coolest thing!!!! We got to see several stages of the life cycle of a dragonfly. I even laid on the pier and took a video (over a half hour) of a dragonfly coming out. AMAZING.
[the water bottles gave me a little anxiety... I'm not going to lie.]
[another decent bass for Eli]
[all four kids out in the water... on a perfect day]
Rachel's jump rope team was in the Memorial Day parade Monday. Her, Kate and I went back for the parade and then headed back up to the cottage after. Love that the cottage is only about an hour away... allows us to be involved... and get back to relaxing, too. :)
When we got back we visited the high dive that was out! The kids love it!! It's been on the lake since Mike was a kid. Cool that our kids get to experience it just like he did. Love that.
[Nate wanted to jump so bad, but didn't. He was up there for about 10 minutes contemplating it.]
[Kate was also up there for about 10 minutes and didn't jump... this time. She did it once last year and didn't plug her nose tight enough, so she got water in her nose. She's afraid of that happening again. They will both jump off this year... I know they will. Just not sure when. ;)]
[one minute Daisy is chewing the rope and the next she's sleeping on it!]
[tired Nate...]
[listened to this song a couple times on the way home... one of my favorites!]
Keep smiling!
