Today we hung out at home. Tried to keep as busy as possible. By supper time we were getting a bit stir crazy, so we went out to pick up pizza for supper.

[Kate and Eli were occupied by Peppa Pig in French… Kate accidentally picked a French version and I think they watched the entire thing. Funny!]
One thing the kids were excited to do was make pillows. Here they are… they lasted about five minutes. We had a plan to stitch with thicker string around the outside of the pillow. They each did about an inch around and then got bored with it. We had many tangles, knots and string coming out of needles. How do their teachers do it? I couldn't keep three kids working on my project for more than five minutes! Eli was whining a lot when anything didn't go just right. Lots of "mom, mom, mom…" I asked him if that's how he was at school. I asked him if he would whine to his teacher and say… "mrs. hoffman, mrs. hoffman…" when she was helping another kid. Of course he doesn't. I told him to please not do it to me then. It's just funny how different kids can be depending on who they're around.

We had a sleepover with Olivia on Saturday night. The girls had a great time! Love that they're so close in age and have so much fun together. :)
Rachel and I made some hair bows over the weekend. This was her first time using my sewing machine. She thought it was pretty fun! This was new for us, but we figured it out. Was fun!
Rachel has a friend over tonight. The two little kids are in bed. The three big kids are settled down and playing on their electronic devices. They played enough living room basketball and ran enough laps in the house (yes, they were jogging laps all over - upstairs and downstairs) to justify some electronics time. Plus, I'm ready for a break and some quiet. :)
One more thing…
The line "hit the showers" in a basketball game he was playing on his iPod started a neat conversation.
I explained to him that it meant the game was over. I told him basketball players usually take a shower in the locker room before leaving the gym and going home. He was surprised by that. I told him that I had waited for dad to shower after games lots of times. I said he was usually the last one out, which we joke about a lot. I told him I went to a lot of games with grandma and grandpa when dad played in college. He asked where. I told him we did a lot of traveling… hours to games. I said I spent a lot of time with grandma and grandpa going to games and at games. He said - did you love dad then? [What a sweet question.] I said, yes, I did already back then. Crazy… that seems so long ago. Those were the days I was just wanting to be done with college, have a job, get married and have a family. I'm at the point in my life that I've looked forward to for so long. This conversation with Eli was a great reminder of how lucky I am to have everything I dreamed of. Thanks, Buddy.
