Well, she did great at drop-off. No crying or anything. She was a bit shy, but ended up playing and I left with no problems. I was so excited for her! She was super excited to play with her friends… who she hadn't met yet.
[quick picture as she walked into school… it was very cold]
[Kate playing with what was Eli's favorite toy when he went there]
Nate and I ran some errands while she was there and stopped home for a bit. It was so different without Kate. I missed her, but it was also nice to hear Nate talk so much. It was like he thought… I finally can talk - nobody else is around! :)
We went to pick up Kate and I tried to peek in to see what she was doing. Well, she saw me and came running. She had a smile on her face initially and then started to cry. Oh man, I thought. Parents are all over the place and probably were thinking… oh boy, the new girl sure is emotional. Well, yes, she can be, but for the most part she's not.
She was upset because they didn't go outside, which was totally my fault. When we packed her backpack we put her snow pants in there incase they went outside. We did this a couple days ago and I didn't realize it was supposed to be so cold out. I should have thought to let her know that they wouldn't go outside today. Whoops. She finally settled down and we left. She did say that she had "so much fun!"
She told me all about what they did… had snack, did exercises and jumping jacks, read and did a project. Sounds like she had a great time. And, she's excited to go back next Tuesday! She had so much fun…she's napping now! ;)
[I told her we'd stop at McD's after school if she was good. I looked past the melt-down at the end and blamed myself. If I wouldn't have peeked in she would have been just fine. Overall, she did great! ;)]
[Kate's first school project - she did a great job on her name.]
[They are talking about exercising… so cute! She did a great job showing me how to do jumping jacks. She might have to teach Eli! ;)]
[So, she had to use a scissors for this project. And, she did great!!! I feel bad because I never practice cutting with her! Especially not after her hair cutting incident. The scissors are pretty much off limits for her here. Happy to see she did so well!]
