Nate's ONE ~ 1/10/13

I planned to do this post yesterday, but I've finally caught the bug the kids have been passing around and actually went to bed at 8:30pm yesterday - weird! ; )

Anyways, here are some pictures of Nate on his birthday!  He gives us so many reasons to smile... we love him so very much!  I'm finding it hard to believe our baby is ONE!

[this was taken the night before his birthday... ]

[here he is when we all went in to say happy birthday to him when he woke up]

[and, Nate, walking through the streamers in his bedroom doorway]

We also got this video when we went in his room to say happy birthday.  He had a funny look on his face.  It was like he was wondering why in the world we were all in his room!  Cute!

So, back to my feeling yucky... well, I think I've finally caught what the kids have been passing around.  Guess it was only a matter of time - although I really did think I would somehow avoid it.  Just a mild fever and cough and just feel yucky... so, could definitely be much worse.  I was so happy because all the kids were getting better just in time for Nate's party tomorrow.  But, now because of me, we have to change it to next Saturday.  I'm so bummed... and, yes, the kids are, too. : (

I even went to walk-in yesterday afternoon thinking they could give me some miracle medicine and I wouldn't be contagious on Saturday, but that wasn't the case.  I don't have influenza, which is good, but it is contagious.  So, we decided post-poning the party was the responsible thing to do.  Being responsible stinks sometimes!  I wanted to just pump ibuprofen all day and pretend nothing was wrong, but that wouldn't have been fair to our guests.

We were going to have a great turnout, so I was super excited.  And, people could have stayed to watch the Packers game, too - it was going to be perfect.  Hoping people can still make it next Saturday.  I was also on the ball with the food and preparing some other things for the party.  It wasn't as last minute as usual.  I bought the food I needed three days before the party - that NEVER happens!  If the party isn't until next Saturday then I'm REALLY prepared!  Only positive I can think out of the situation.

It's funny though, now that I think about it... last year at this time all the kids were sick.  That's when I was recovering in the hospital with Nate and we had to shuffle them between grandparents and aunts trying to keep the sick ones away from the healthy ones.  That was not fun.  Hoping this doesn't become a tradition.

Okay, back to some happy things! : )

Here is Nate ~ he's getting so good at walking lately.  It's like he just realized what he can do!  Love it... it's so fun to watch him!

Here he also is pushing Kate around on the cart. : )

Keep smiling!!
