family pictures...

Not sure where to start ~ I think I'll start here... Eli ate an entire can of Spaghettios tonight.  That amazed me!!!!  He's never a big eater, but for some reason was tonight.  Maybe it was all the stress from family pictures?  I felt like I could drink an entire two-liter of Cherry Coke after!  Yeah, that's what makes me feel better.  I don't need alcohol - although it'd probably be better for me!  Haha!

So, we finally scheduled family pictures.  It was supposed to be on Sunday, but then because the colors were fading quickly we were going to try to do it earlier this week - Tuesday.  Well, rain prevented that from happening.  So, the next option was today.  The weather was great, but unfortunately the strong winds blew most of the color off the trees.  Oh well - that didn't bother me too much.  I was just excited to finally get a professional picture of our entire family.

I spent way too much time thinking about what we'd wear... I admit that.  I guess I should have worried more about how the kids would behave.  They've all been pretty good lately, so I guess I didn't even think it could be that bad.  Well, I was wrong!  The Kate who said "I'm excited!" right before we left... was far from excited when we were there.  Our photographer couldn't even look at Kate without Kate freaking out.  Embarrassing... yes.  Disappointing... yes.  I was so bummed.

All I wanted was a nice family picture and as we left I thought for sure there was no way she got one.  Kate didn't cooperate from the very beginning... that little stinker.

Well, the photographer sent me a text when we got home asking if I wanted a sneak peek.  My immediate response was "yes!"  I needed to know there was at least one half-way decent picture after all that craziness... that's all I wanted - just one!

This is what she posted... whew!  I'm happy to know we have this one.  So happy.  Looking forward to seeing the rest of her work.  She was a pleasure to work with... and so understanding.  Thank you Shannon from SKC Photography!

Keep smiling... even if your youngest daughter doesn't! ; )
