Conferences: Rachel and Eli

Had Rachel and Eli's conferences tonight.  I'm a very proud mom tonight.  Both kids are doing very well academically... they're where they should be.  No concerns there.

Eli needs to talk more in class... no surprise there.  I hear that every time.  At least I didn't get the "he's painfully quiet" this time. ; )  His journal work was great.  I could tell he really took his time on everything.  He really takes pride in what he does.  Quiet - yes, but also a very hard worker.  Love that about him.

Rachel's teacher said she's very task-oriented and likes to move from one thing to the next.  She doesn't take her time on things... different from Eli.  Although, she will raise her hand and answer questions.  They are both so different... it's actually pretty crazy how different they are.  Her teacher also said she's very aware of everything and on the ball.  That's the Rachel we know and love.

Now time for me to pack for the weekend.  I'm running the Fall50 in Door County with four other friends.  Together, the five of us, will run 50 miles.  Looking forward to a nice get-away weekend.  Wish I could just snap my fingers though and the kids and I would be all packed.  It's hard work to go away, but I'm so very thankful we have family that makes going away for the weekend possible.  Thank you!

Okay, time to finish wash, pack and make some desserts... fun, fun!! : )

Keep smiling!
