We went to the Christmas parade yesterday... thankfully the weather cooperated. It rained pretty much all day until just before the parade was supposed to start. We explained to the kids that if it rained we wouldn't go to the parade and they were very understanding. I think they had it in their mind that we weren't going, so we when I said... get ready, we're going to the parade... they were excited!
It was a very nice parade. I think my favorite was the Goodrich [FDL HS] marching band... it just sounds so neat. Here are a few pictures from the parade. My mom also joined us, which was nice.
There was also a moment during the parade, which was a reality check. A dental office was handing out toothpaste. They gave Rachel a tube and then they came back and gave me about three more tubes... the girl said, "you have a big family, you need more!" Made me realize we do have a kind of big family and soon to be bigger. Just doesn't seem like it to me... I sometimes forget we are planning to have our fourth kid next month... crazy!

Eli and Eli
Eli had a friend over before school on Thursday and I took a few pictures of them waiting for the bus in front of our house... they looked like such big boys out there waiting. Can't imagine what they were talking about. The boys played very well together and had a blast.
There was one point where I had to simply remind them to take turns and Eli B said, "It's Eli, Eli, Eli, Eli, Eli... that's funny!" It is pretty funny when they're together. I think we need to start using nicknames. : )
The Photo Chair
I was shopping most of the day yesterday and the kids were home with Mike. They always keep so busy by themselves when he watches them. When I'm home they're always asking me to do things for them or play with them. I'm not complaining, but it's just funny how they can keep themselves so busy for Mike. Oh well. But, this is what they were busy with all day! They decorated the chair for a photo shoot. They had all sorts of pictures taped everywhere... pretty cute! Rachel's Phone Call
Today was also a big day for Rachel! The phone rang this evening and it was her friend Ella. She asked if Rachel was there. I think this is the first friend phone call she's ever gotten! I got Rachel and she was so excited to get a phone call. Her friend was calling to let her know Justin Bieber was on So Random... how cute!! Here is a picture of proud Rachel on the phone with her friend. The first of many I'm sure! : )
Bathroom Painted
Also, the bathroom is done being painted! Mike had a pretty horrible job of cutting the top. He had to do about four coats around the top. Bummer, but so happy it's done! I think that's all the painting we'll do for awhile. Feels good to get a bunch done. Still plenty more to do, but it's time for a break from painting.
What a very nice weekend. Got together with my parents and my sister and her kids yesterday after the parade at my parents. They celebrated my birthday a bit early... was really nice. We had chili and cake - yummy! Always nice to hang out there. Then tonight we had the Zimmermans and Christy and Olivia over for pizza and the game. Also, a very good time. Way to go Packers!!!!
