April Snowstorm, Kate's Haircut, Eli's 3-on-3, Cottage, Moms vs Boys

We got a big snowstorm on April 18th.  It was very pretty, but I was really ready for Spring.  Thankfully, all the snow is gone now.

[loved this view looking in...]

[Snowstorm one day and then this forecast... only in WI!]

[took Daisy for her first "walk" to get the kids from the bus.  I actually carried her most of the way.  She wanted to eat stones off the road.]

[Love this time of year... the position of the sun in perfect to cast a neat shadow on the cabinet in the morning when kids are sitting at the island.]

[Nate writes ALL the time!  He loves it and I love that he loves it!]

[Kate with Daisy when Daisy is tired and chill.  The best time to have her!]

[A huge snapping turtle in the ditch... Eli spotted it from in the car.  That's how big it was!]

[Eli having fun working on training Daisy.]

[Nate has been leaving us all notes... they are so cute!]

We were talking about Kate needing a haircut and it turned into her donating 8 inches to Pantene's Beautiful Length's program.  She was excited for a new look and happy to be able to help others, too. I know two people who recently were diagnosed with cancer and who have lost their hair... makes my heart so happy to be able to help others that are going through the difficult part of cancer that most people face... losing their hair.

[before - not brushed!  ha!]

[another before]

[love this]

[we also changed her part... we always just left her hair the way it fell after her shower, but turns out it lays much better (with her cowlick) the other way.]

[Nate almost sleeping at the salon]

[proud Kate]

[silly Kate]

[Rachel also got her hair trimmed... here are Kate and Nate watching patiently]

[I love this picture]

[Daisy loves this spot.  I have since removed the shelf above her here, so she fits better... at least for now.]

[Rachel had a bowling party for the end of the basketball season.  All the kids got to bowl and loved it!!  Nate said, "Bowling is my second favorite thing to do."  I asked what his favorite thing to do is and he said, "write."  Melt me!]

Eli had a 3 on 3 tournament in Seymour last weekend.  I love 3 on 3 tournaments!!  They are super fun to watch!!

[nate, eli, mike, grandpa and kate]

[this was an amazing win!!!  we were down in our first game 0-7 I think and 2-10 and came back to win!!!  Brady knocked down a ton of threes to help pull out a win!]

[the things they do to keep busy while at the gym all day!]

[just Nate sleeping in a weird place... nothing new.  At some point I will put all these pictures together... he's slept in some crazy places.  guess that's what happens when you're the fourth kid and are used to being on the go all the time.  you learn to sleep anywhere when you're tired.]

[these boys took 2nd place (out of 24 teams, I think) to a very good team that included some of the best players in the state!  They lost the championship game by only 2 points, 13-15.  Very proud of them!!]

[Rachel stayed home to watch Daisy ALL day... thanks, Rachel!!]

[each morning I sit with Daisy on the kitchen floor for awhile after she eats.  she really like the attention then and it helps keep her quiet until the kids get up.  she can still fit on my lap... but, probably not for much longer.]

Last Tuesday was supposed to be beautiful and the Orkin guy was going to be at the cottage.  So, I had an excuse to go up there and check on things and enjoy the beautiful day!!  Brought Daisy with me.  We had a nice time!

[yes, that is still ice on the lake!!!!]

Daisy and I went for a walk and then she was tired, so I could actually just sit on the deck and enjoy the warm sun!  Was so nice!!

[Daisy on the snow at the shore of the lake... she's so cute!]

[boat landing]

[selfie with Daisy]

[Nate was pretty excited to find some of Eli's old baseball pants that fit him... and a belt!]

[Kids eating outside... with a little snow pile that was still there a couple days ago!  Finally gone now!]

Last night we had the 2nd annual boys vs moms game.  Always a great time!!!!

[Nate got to help get the bleachers out.]

[great group of kids and moms!!]

[So fun!]

[Nate even got in the game!]

[Here is me at about 4am with Daisy.  I see this shadow MANY times a night and thought I'd capture a picture of it.  I still carry her outside every time.  Why?  Because before long I won't be able to lift her, so I'm enjoying it while I can.  She's about 20 pounds already!]

Keep smiling!
