Sharing Shoes, Slippers, Putting and PB+J Sandwiches

I have been running again (feels so good, mostly do it for my mind!)... but, anyways... I always bring my shoes along to they gym and have been wearing my big winter boots there.  But, lately there's no snow and big boots are a bit much... and I hate having to put on other tennis shoes (and tie all the time) just to wear into the gym.

Found these boots to be perfect for dry, no snow days like we've been having.  But, why am I taking the time to write about this?  Because... these are Rachel's boots!  This is a time I had hoped would never come!  Ha!  It is nice, because I love these boots... but, I have been so self-conscious about my feet since I think 5th grade.  And, Rachel has my size shoe now... well, close enough that we can share some.  The good thing is it doesn't seem to bother her AT ALL that her feet are on the big side!

I'm still always thinking about my feet and how big my shoes make my feet look... something I don't think I'll ever get over. :)

Nate recently had his birthday and got these awesome slippers from a family friend.  They are just the cutest... we can't help but all smile when we see him wearing them!  And, he can't not smile when wearing them either!  Love his smile!

Eli and I have been having a daily challenge recently with putting.  We each get one putt before he goes to bed.  So far I'm winning.  We are both pretty competitive, so this has been fun!  He would agree... as of now I'm kicking his butt.  But, I have gotten pretty lucky.  Just waiting for him to start pulling in the lead.  But, we'll have to see!

I was making lunches this morning and thought about how thankful I am for the job security I have right now as a stay at home mom.  No more picking up tons of toys, making/cleaning bottles or changing diapers, but there is still so much that comes with being a mom of four.  I still make their lunches... and plan to forever if they'll let me.  I don't mind it at all.  It's just funny how they all have peanut butter and some jelly... but, each sandwich request is a little different.  One likes only a little peanut butter, one likes a lot of just peanut butter, one likes peanut butter w/strawberry jelly and another likes peanut butter w/grape jelly.

Some people might say... just make them all the same and if they don't like it they can make their own.  Well, I'm not doing that.  I will teach them about responsibility in other ways and help them appreciate what I do for them.  My mom and dad did a lot for me when I was growing up... I didn't have to make my lunch and didn't have many chores, but I think I turned out okay... and hope appreciated all they did for me back then.  I know I definitely do now!

My kids have so many responsibilities at their young ages with school and sports and other activities that if I can help... I will help.  If it means they have more time to chill and be a kid... it's all worth it.  I will continue to teach them respect, appreciation, responsibility and how to be kind while doing some things for them that they could do on their own... because I can.

[morning smiles in the car waiting for the bus]

Everyone went to school yesterday and again today.  As much as I didn't mind having the kids here when they were sick... it's still nice to see this chair empty and knowing they are all feeling better.

Keep smiling!
