Valentine's Day, Mayville Basketball and Girls' Day

The kids had their Valentine's Day celebrations in school last week.  Last year they all had their parties on the same day and dressed in red.  For some reason this year was not like that.

Kate's party was on Thursday, because she doesn't have school on Fridays.  We put a heart in her hair and she wore a heart shirt… that was orange.  Odd, but it was a heart. :)  Rachel had to bring some candy hearts for her class and also her Valentines.  She didn't even wear red.  And, Eli had to bring a healthy snack and his Valentines.  He did wear red.  They both just wanted Valentines we bought, which I was completely okay with.  Would have been nice to make something, but store-bought… so much less time-consuming.  Rachel did have fun making her bunny Valentines box.  All her idea.  I did help with some of the details.  And, had just as much fun as her.  We worked on it until bedtime the night before, but it turned out cute.

[thank you, Rachel, for finding this idea online… love]

[working on our colors… such a struggle]

[fun, but dangerous game with Kate and Nate!]

Eli had a basketball tournament on Saturday in Mayville.  It was a fun day!!  Love seeing old high school friends at these tournaments… their kids play for other cities.  It's so fun!

[the boys took 3rd place and played great!]

[Eli and his friend, Henry, who played on another team in the tournament.]

[on the way home after six hours in a gym]

[Nate continued his nap when we got home.]

Today Rachel, Kate and I went shopping in Appleton.  It was so much fun!!  They did great.  We did a lot of walking and they kept up without much fuss at all.  Thanks, girls, it was fun!

[lunch in the mall]

[and, a treat for the ride home… at least for me.  they just had water, but they thought it was cool in a Starbucks cup. ;)  Rachel did this collage… she's so good at doing these!]
