Relay for Life and other stuff

Relay for Life 2013
We had a team again this year to support family and friends who have battled cancer... some who've won and others who we've lost.  It's always a very emotional event, but such an important one to help raise funds for ongoing research.

We got there around 3:30pm on Saturday and the kids lasted until just after 10pm!  They were all great... it was a nice time.  I was very surprised how many laps the kids actually walked.

I didn't take any pictures, so am using a few that Christy took (thanks Christy).

[the little girls decorating Patrick's luminary bag]

We left our screen tent there overnight and went in the morning to pick up.  I woke the kids up just after 6am.  We got ready, went to Relay for Life, walked a couple laps, listened to the closing ceremony, took down our tent and then we stopped at Festival for donuts. ; )

[here are the kids as we pulled back into the driveway at home after our early morning]

[Kate actually crawled in her bed during the day for a nap and with her baking stuff on... tired girl]

[Nate was also tired... this was him after eating his banana.  he also got his first face-painting at Relay]

We've been working on dunks here... ; )

This has been Kate's favorite thing to wear lately.  She has so much fun with it!

[she pulled down the hat and wanted me to take a picture - funny!]

[we love when Eli need a haircut. ;)]

I'm sure we're not alone in our battle with curtain rods being pulled out.  We have long curtains in the area where the kids play.  It's happened several times then they sit on them while playing or trying to go behind furniture.  Not a fun job.  Mike usually fixes, but I thought I'd give it a try.  It's definitely not fun and a challenge.  Each time it gets more and more difficult to fix as the holes get bigger.  I have the rods back up, but unfortunately Mike needs to patch some holes now.  We'll see how long they stay up this time. ; )

The kids came with me this morning for a run.  It was so nice out... they all did great. : )

And, a couple videos...

Air show practice our our front door... fun!

I was playing catch the other day with Kate and Nate and for some reason they thought it was so funny!

Keep smiling!
