playing outside and big-girl bed

The kids got to play outside today... it was pretty nice out for Nov. 23rd!  We played some basketball and they practiced hand stands.  Rachel's been learning a lot of gymnastics stuff from other girls during recess at school.  And, everything she learns she needs to teach Eli.  I really do see her being a teacher some day. : )

We also went to Fazoli's for lunch, stopped at TJ Maxx (scored a great deal on lamps for my sister!) and went to the library.  Fun afternoon.  Only problem was, miss Kate didn't get a nap.  She went to bed at 6:30pm (was so tired) and got up crying at 8pm.  Would not stop crying... finally did and I put her back to bed when Rachel and Eli went to bed and that was it.  Thankfully!  She was so overtired.  Before our experience today I thought she might be ready for no naps, but that is definitely not the case! : )

Earlier this week we bought Kate a big girl mattress/box spring.  It's all set up on the floor in her room.  I also have the baby room pretty much all ready.  Crib is in there and all set.  But, I think Kate might be using it for awhile yet!  Was hoping she'd be excited about her new bed, but that's not the case.  She cries whenever I try to lay her in it.  She'll sit there with the kids and read books, but not interested at all when it's time for nap or bed.  We have a couple months yet... so, we'll see.  The new baby might be in the pack-n-play for awhile depending how this goes. : )

Wishing everyone a very happy and safe Thanksgiving.  I'm looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with family tomorrow.  I have so much to be thankful for...
