[this is one I would not have forgotten]
We got to visit a very new, little Hoffman baby on Saturday. Little Evelyn was not even four days old when we got to see her. She is one of the prettiest little babies I've ever seen! This was the only picture I got of her... was busy making sure the kids were under control. They really did do a very good job. They were excited to see the little baby and Kate handled it much better than I was expecting. I've been sensing a little jealously from Kate when Olivia is on my lap or I'm holding her lately. Hoping she behaves the same way she did when I was holding baby Evelyn when I'm holding her little baby brother or sister. ; )

The kids had a blast writing on our dry erase board on Thanksgiving. Not sure I'm proud of the violence in this drawing, but the creativity is there. This is Papa shooting a turkey. Have no idea what sparked this idea... Papa is not a hunter. So glad I got a picture before it was erased!
On Sunday the kids made their Christmas countdown chains. They were very excited for this project and had a lot of fun with it. They each got to decorate their own Christmas tree and put the links together. It's so much fun for them to rip off a link each morning... they get so excited!

Kate being Kate... funny! Her personality is really starting to come out. She is very much like her sister... she loves to have people laugh at her! I think that's a great quality... love it! She came in the kitchen like this at one point today. These were from the clean laundry laying in the living room ~ thankfully! ; )
I think we also finally have a climber. You'll notice her "step" at the bottom of the love seat. She is very good at turning around to get off the couch, so I'm okay with her up on the furniture. Plus, most kids are probably doing this at 12-months of age at the latest. Kate, our little over-achiever! haha!
Rachel came home today with some very exciting new math skills!! She was so excited to show me that she could add some pretty big numbers using a trick she learned! It was so fun to see her excitement! She asked me to give her several problems to figure out. I gave her a calculator, so she could use that to check and make sure she figured them out right. She thought that was fun, too. I think this picture captures her excitement well. : )

The kids were in the living room playing with a toy I brought up from the basement today. It almost felt like Christmas morning! The toy hasn't been out since before we moved, so it really felt almost new to them. They were playing with it right by the Christmas tree, which made it also feel like Christmas morning. Maybe I can find some more things in the basement to wrap up for Christmas! Wouldn't do that, but almost seems it would be an option!

There is a cat door cut in our basement door from the previous owners, which Mike thinks we need to do something about. I see it as a low priority at this point, but I think it really bothers him. The kids have fun with it... and this pictures shows that. My Dad was able to snap this when they were here... love it! I want to keep the cat door just for moments like this. : )
A few other vocabulary things I've been wanting to remember are:
Sockings: Eli struggles with the correct pronunciation of stockings. He always wants to say "sockings," which really does make sense... I can understand where the confusion would come from.
Pillow Sheet: Eli also continually calls a pillow case a "pillow sheet." I love it!!
These are things I hope to remember in years to come. They make me smile, that's for sure. : )
