Anyway, decided to take a trip up to the Special Memories Zoo in Greenville since we were already half way there. So glad we did. The weather was perfect and the zoo was really nice. Not too huge... perfect for keeping us busy for a few hours.

Here are some of the animals we saw... they had many of the zoo favorites, which surprised me considering the size of the zoo. Huge lions, tigers, zebras and many more.
[can you believe the kids had no questions for me after looking at this?! i was just waiting!]
[the kids thought it was funny how this guy was trying to grab weeds to eat... he was reaching with everything he had!]
[this made Eli crack-up. he said, "Rachel, look at his hair-do!"]
[I think this was my favorite... they're so pretty]
[the kids watching the tigers]
[petting zoo]
[don't get too close Rachel]
[i think this is the little goat my nephew wanted to take home when they were there a week ago, so had to get a picture - I could be wrong though... there were a lot of little goats]
[cute little pig]
[these pictures aren't the best, because i had to hold Kate in the petting zoo area. they warned if you took your stroller in you could have a goat crawling on it.]
[because I had to hold Kate the kids really didn't get any of my help, which I kind of felt bad about. They could have held a goat, but I wasn't able to help them grab one. : ( they did go in twice though to hold bunnies.]
[I realized that poor Kate will not be able to experience a petting zoo until she's done sucking her thumb. there's no way I'd let her pet animals knowing that her dirty thumb will without a doubt go into her mouth immediately after petting something. i did let her touch a bunny with her left had for a split-second.]
[this pig is way, way, way bigger than it looks! i couldn't believe it!]
[this was a caterpillar we saw. i recently saw some stuff online about caterpillars that cause rashes, etc and this reminded me of that, so we didn't touch it! might be harmless, but didn't want to take the chance.]
The end of our day was spent playing some football outside on the field Mike made... the kids had a blast. They were trying to teach me all the "plays" that Mike taught them yesterday since Mike is gone for work tonight. I'm sure they had much more fun playing with him, but I tried! : )
Keep smiling!
