It all came so fast I didn't even get a picture of Rachel on her last day. :(
[Last day of school... Eli (4th) and Kate (1st).]
[Whenever we rent cottages up north with the Zimmermans we always pick up the Resorter... and a goal has been to get someone in it at some point. Well, goal accomplished. Look who made the front page with grandpa!]
We've been up to the cottage a couple times already... not for long each time, but still so worth it! The kids love fishing and playing in the water. I think it's a little too cold yet, but they don't seem to mind.
[This is me enjoying my coffee before doing work at the cottage... there's always something to be done, so I find it's important to take some time to just chill each day.]
[Nate found this piece of copper wire on the ground, which reminded me of my dad. He used to make art for us using copper tubing. He was so talented. I decided to bend the copper into a heart and put in a place where I'll see it often. Miss him and so sad he can't be enjoying the cottage with us.]
Last weekend was Walleye Weekend. As always, it was a good time... and HOT! :)
[Mike and Tim took 62nd place and won cash! So proud of them!!!!]
[Just Nate being silly.]
[Eli and Ryan are in a football camp on Sunday evenings and Sheri and I took them (our other kids happened to all stay home)... it was so weird. It was just us!! We got to catch up with no distractions... very rare. Enjoyed every minute.]
[Found Nate like this one morning... too funny.]
[Kids participated in a Intro to Golf event at Rolling Meadows and seemed to enjoy it. Nate sunk a putt from about 10 feet to win a Gatorade. He and a kid older than Rachel were the only two to make it. :)]
[Rachel will be participating in "Worlds" for jump rope with a few others on her team in early July. It's in Orlando. She and I will be going together... should be fun! She's been so dedicated to practicing... love.]
So, the girls are in a basketball clinic that started Tuesday. I pulled up to drop them off and came upon this...
I asked someone who was in the area if that was the gym floor (which was obvious) and they said yes. I asked if I could take a piece (was thinking a board or two) and they said sure. Take whatever you want. And, then this happened...
I think this stuff is so cool! Between Mike and I we'll think of some fun things to do with all of this. It actually made me really sad to see them ripping it out and just tossing it in piles in the parking... and in the rain none the less. I was one of the only crazy people digging through it looking for decent pieces including some colors and/or lines. And, I looked even more crazy, because I was out there in the rain. I didn't care... it was just such a neat opportunity. I didn't even play on the court and thought it was cool. Can't imagine how neat some of the kids who actually played on the court would think it would be to have a piece of the floor. I don't know... maybe I'm crazy for thinking that.
Keep smiling!
