Started with Eli playing his first flag football game of the season. It was a great morning for football. He started at 8am! We all went except for Rachel who stayed home with her friend. Figured it was a good thing for them to get some sleep since they went to bed pretty late.
Eli's team did great... so fun to watch!!! Next time I hope I remember to take my good camera that can zoom with better quality.
Next, we just chilled at home for awhile. Mike and Eli went to one of Eli's friend's football games, I cut the grass (love doing) and got some other stuff done around the house. Vacuumed, too... wahoo!!
Mike and I have our anniversary Tuesday and we were thinking of going out to eat for supper, but I didn't line up a sitter... so, we just decided to have some family fun instead. We decided to go bowling. Mike and I both love bowling and we don't do it nearly enough. The kids did great and had fun!
After bowling we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for supper. That was the plan, so we didn't get anything to eat at the bowling alley... so hard not to get anything. We were so hungry after bowling... and all very excited for Buffalo Wild Wings. Even Rachel, who now eats hamburgers!!! :)
Walked in and we could see homecoming groups there. Love seeing that! Such an exciting time for the kids. As we're eating, next to this table of ten, a man walks up to their table and tells them he is paying for their bill. I mean, really?!! It was the neatest thing. He gave them a little talk, told them to have fun and be safe. The kids were very thankful and even asked me to take their picture with the man. I wasn't able to get the same picture, but did get this one as the man walked away.
It was just the neatest thing to witness... and gave me hope for this world we live in. It was a great opportunity for us to teach our kids about kindness, generosity and how to handle a situation like that if they were ever in it, too. The homecoming group did a great job of saying thank you very genuinely. And, when they walked out after they were done one of the boys even went back up to the man at the bar and shook his hand and said thanks again. It was just so, so neat to see!!!
[more fun at Buffalo Wild Wings!]
Here are some of the other things that have happened recently that have made me smile...
[Kate lost her third tooth! The adult tooth was already coming in a lot behind her baby tooth... can't believe how much it was in right when her tooth came out.]
[Maggie just looking cute!]
[I mean, where else would you play house... the bottom of the steps is a perfect place!]
[Went to the Fondy game a week ago... love experiencing the Friday Night Lights!]
[My sister moved to town, or at least is in the process of doing so, and her kids now to go schools in Fond du Lac. I have been hoping for this for many, many years. To be able to go to my niece's volleyball game in Fond du Lac and have her be the home team was like a dream come true!! So excited to see them even more than we did when they were in Oshkosh!!]
[Kate and Eli before picture day!]
Keep smiling!
