[Eli finally decided to let his frog go. I'm so happy… was feeling sad for the frog.]
Relay for Life 2014
The event was a little different this year because of the weather. There were storms mid-afternoon, so we didn't get out there as early as usual. They ended up moving the event inside the school, so we packed as if we'd be inside the entire time. Well, the weather cleared up and we they moved it back outside when we were there. So, I didn't pack right and we also didn't get our tables and chairs out for fear it would rain again.
We hung out until about 9:30pm I think. The kids did very well and each year they are getting more out of the event. Rachel and Eli are starting to recognize people walking around with purple shirts on. The purple shirts identify cancer survivors. It's really sad when you see a boy on your son's baseball team wearing a purple shirt. Ugh.
We have been supporting this event for many years and I will continue to support the fight to end cancer. Thanks, again, to all who supported our team… or any team!
[the kids got their faces painted there… was a nice reason to smile]
Eli is in a baseball tournament this weekend. They really turned things around for the last two games… it was so fun to watch them. And, they had a ton of fun, too! Heading back in the morning. Good times!
[the two Whitecaps teams and coaches… big thanks to the coaches]
Keep smiling!
