[picture of the birthday boy on his 8th birthday!]
Kate had some mail from her 4K teacher and before the first day of school she has to draw a picture of something she did this Summer on a puzzle piece she was given. She wanted to draw herself tubing and I think did a great job! It's all done and ready for Wednesday!
We went to the first Fondy football home game on Friday. It was a perfect night! No sweatshirts needed and thankfully the rain held off. So happy we decided to go. It was the day we got back from the cottage and when I first thought about it I pretty much ruled it out. Figured I wouldn't be up for it after the cottage. But, once we got home, unpacked (or more like stuff tossed out of car and into kitchen!) and I had some laundry started… I was looking for any excuse possible not to do anymore laundry or pick up. So, off we went to the game!
[Kate and Nate were not interested in getting in this picture!]
[the sky looked awesome!]
Yesterday we went to visit my "little sister" and her new baby!!!! She had him while we were at the cottage. I was so excited to meet Travis! What an adorable little guy! I did not want to leave and am so excited to visit them again!!!
I was matched with Tia when I was in college through Big Brothers Big Sisters… so that was about 15 years ago!! It was one of the best things I did while in school and I'd recommend it to anyone. I have learned so much over the years by being a "big sister" to Tia. We have so many memories and have a friendship that I can't imagine being without. We were matched when she just turned seven. So, I've basically seen her grow up right before my very eyes. Even though we were matched as "sisters" she feels more like a "daughter" to me… pretty special.
I am so proud of her. What I love most about her is how KIND, GENEROUS and GIVING she is. She would do absolutely anything for anyone in need… no matter what hardship it might create for herself. Love you, Tia!
