Mike took the boys this time. I told him Nate is always fine and that I always have him sit on my lap. Well, I got a text from him saying "Total freak out!!!!" They got home and only Eli had a haircut. Stinker Nate wasn't having anything to do with it I guess. He really needed a haircut, so this morning I took him in having no idea how it was going to go. I warned them when I called for the appointment that it might not go well. When I walked in a couple of the girls remembered Nate from yesterday. I told them he's always been good with me there, so I was giving it a shot.
They offered him a sucker right away (which they never do, so it's not a trick I didn't tell Mike about) and he went without a fuss to the chair. He never even opened the sucker… just held it under the cape. I always have him sit on my lap and we did that and he was great - barely moved!!
The girl who cut Eli's hair yesterday was there this morning and thought it was so crazy how good he was being after seeing his freak-out yesterday. She offered to take a picture for me since all the other kids (who normally help me document things!) were in school. Here is the shot she got of Nate. What an innocent little boy. When I sent the picture to Mike to was a bit annoyed. What a stinker!!
We went to my grandma's house on Sunday to look through some of her things. She is SUPER organized!!! Every box in her basement was marked with what was in it, who she got it from and when. Amazing!! It inspired me to want to be like that… or at least a little bit like that! ;)
This was a totally spontaneous project, but I brought up all the toys that were in bins downstairs and went through a couple areas upstairs that collect misc toys. Ended up finding most pieces for everything (amazing!) and just wanted to get rid of it. Didn't want to wait for the weather to be nice and have a rummage sale and really didn't want to put it all back down in the basement. Decided to take some pics, post on Facebook and see if I could get rid of things that way. Well, mission accomplished! It's all sold!! Wasn't expecting that, but I'll take it! Still a ton of other stuff to go through downstairs, but it was a great start!
[Of course, as I went through things that the kids never play with… everything all of a sudden became their favorite! Also, the hat Kate has on was my grandma's… love it on her!]
