Just catching up…
Yesterday I hung out at my parents for much of the day. Mike was ice fishing, Rachel went with my sister to Abby's basketball tournament and my parents were watching Ryan and Nevie. Decided to hang out, so the kids could play and my mom and I could chat. Was a very nice time. My mom had a great surprise for me, too… her homemade pizza for lunch!!! It's my absolute favorite!! Thanks, mom!!
[the Grand Prize Game kept the kids busy for awhile ~ anyone having a flashback to the Bozo Show?!]
[My sister shared this picture with me… Rachel helping braid ~ she loves doing hair. I can totally see this being her future. She has the interest (loves it) and the personality for it. We'll have to wait and see.]
A good friend gave this cool gadget to me! She said that anyone with kids should have one, so she got me one. It's pretty fun!! The kids think it's the coolest thing! And, I'll admit, I get excited to get milk myself! :) It's battery powered and has a pump. Perfect for the kids getting their own cup of milk or putting it in their cereal bowl. Thanks, Gina! :)
Got home from my parents yesterday and Kate was complaining of a "stomach" as she calls it. She was talking about a stomach ache. After a little nap she was super crabby and just didn't seem herself. Sure enough, she's sick. Was up a lot of the night with her. :( She's been a trooper though. I'm so proud of her for her bucket-skills. Can't wait until she gets better and hoping nobody else catches it.
Rachel and Eli are at a movie with Mike now, but when they're home they hang out outside or up in their rooms. We've been communicating through email or notes like this. They are trying to stay clear of the germs and being very creative. :)
I was waiting until the kids and Mike left for the movie to lay Nate down for a nap. He was getting very tired, but I wanted to wait until it was quiet here. Thought it'd be a perfect opportunity for Kate to get a good nap in. She totally needs it. It's very difficult to keep our house quiet. The big kids are usually good, but Nate is a different story.
Right when Mike left here is how I found Nate and Kate...
[the old cup as a headrest trick]
[her security bucket. poor thing. i did move it.]
So, it's been a kind of blah day here. Really hoping this doesn't pass to anyone else.
When I saw the little cardinal Eli made brightened by the sunshine I had to take a picture. It made me smile. :)
Keep smiling! :)
