Brewers Mini-Marathon 2013

I ran in the Brewers Mini-Marathon (half) yesterday.  I ran in it last year and thought it was really well done and fun.  I signed up for this year's run as soon as registration opened late last year.  I didn't know anybody else that was running, but it was still fun.  Eli had football in the morning, so my mom and Rachel came with me.  It was a great time!  Perfect weather.  Last year it stormed causing a delayed start and was really chilly after, so didn't hang out for the music.  This year, it was perfect!  We hung out and listened to the band for awhile... very nice and relaxing!

Here are pictures of the fun!

Rachel and my mom walked around after cheering me on at the starting line.  They had a great time!

They walked around Miller Park...

Took a walk down by the river...

Then they came back in to cheer me through the finish... thanks so much mom and Rachel!! :)

I was happy with my time.  I did better last year by a few minutes, but had also trained more.  Training definitely helps. ;)  I was just happy to be able to run... and in such beautiful weather.  Whenever I seemed to be hitting a wall I would think about all the people who would love to be able to simply run... and I push through for them.  I'm very thankful for my health... deep, yes, but very true. <3

I always think a lot about my brother-in-law, Patrick, when I'm running.  He was such a dedicated athlete, hard-worker and true inspiration for so many.  He always gave it his all!  Wish he could be running today... but, I know he is somewhere.

After the run we enjoyed some snacks and great music.  It was a perfect day!

We also ran into the racing sausages... we call them the "silly guys."  Rachel was pretty excited!

[Here they are ducking to get through the doorway... we were cracking up at this!!]

Keep smiling!!
