Friday Kate and Nate had off of school. Nate was excited to have a friend over. We went out to eat, too. They had a great time! Kate went to her cousin's and also had fun!
Friday night Rachel had a basketball game at Oshkosh North. No pictures, but they won! Felt good to snap that losing streak. Ahh. I'm always so nervous and into the games... I rarely get pictures. Definitely need to get better at that!!
Saturday had a ton going on. Eli had a basketball tournament in Watertown, Nate had a basketball tournament in Menasha and Rachel had her Snowball dance.
My original thought was to miss Eli's tournament and just go to Nate's in the afternoon and then get back to help Rachel get ready for her dance. Then the mom-guilt set in. Decided it was possible for me to get to Eli's first two games in Watertown, head to Nate's tournament and get to at least one game and then help Rachel. So, that's what I decided to do.
Got to Eli's tournament almost an hour before his first game, so Kate and I decided to hangout in the car and listen to music for awhile. Was fun!
Everything was going well until Kate and I left Eli's games (after his second game) to head to Nate's games with my father-in-law. We stopped in Fond du Lac on our way to Menasha to grab my mother-in-law. Kate had to go to the restroom, so we went inside Kohl's (our meeting point) before we headed to Menasha. As I'm in there my heart just sank. "Oh no!" I still had Mike's keys in my purse from when Kate and hangout in the car before Eli's games.
So, that changed up my afternoon a bit. No more getting to Nate's games. Instead my in-laws took Kate and me home. I grabbed my keys and headed back to Watertown to give Mike his keys... and then right back to Fond du Lac. Just in time to help Rachel. Was so bummed to miss Nate's games and to have to drive an extra two hours. But, oh well. We learned from that experience and I hope many others did, too. ;)
Rachel got ready for the dance at a friend's house and then Mike and I met her at one of the boy's houses with some of the other parents. Took some pictures, the kids went to the dance and the parents hung out. About 45 minutes after the kids were at the dance two of the dads got phone calls from their sons. They were ready to be picked up. What?! They were bored and wanted to come back to the house we were at to all hangout. The kids got back, put comfortable clothes on (which most had in cars, because sleepovers were planned after the dance) and then watched the dunk contest in the basement together. Not really what they thought the night would end up like... but, think they all had a great time! The parents did, too. We stayed there until after midnight! So many laughs!!!

Then Sunday, Rachel's birthday, was another fun and busy day. She was back from her sleepover by 10:30am. We had family over to celebrate her birthday from 11:30am until 1:30pm. The weekends around her birthday were just too busy to fit in a normal party with family and friends, so the short get together was really the only option. Turns out it was really nice. Happy we decided to do that and not just skip it this year. Love our family!
They played so hard! Lost to a very tough team their first game and beat the second team by a lot. I think they actually had fun! ;) Was fun to watch them! Again, not many pictures. Boo.
[Nate is pretty lucky to have this group of boys to hangout with!]
