.reasons to smile.: running, baseball and cottage

Rachel had her first home Theisen track meet last week. She ran the 200, 4 x 200 and did long jump. She really likes track... and I love watching her. Even on chilly days. ;)

My memory stinks... so, I asked my mom to write me a note to remind me to grab the basketballs from her garage one afternoon before taking Eli to practice. Long story as to why they were there. Here is the note... and, guess, what? Yup, I still forgot them! Oh my gosh. I get so annoyed with myself!! Ha!

Eli had his first baseball game last Friday. It was so cold, but they won and he had fun! He got to pitch a couple innings and did great. Not much speed, but he can get it over the plate for the most part, which is helpful at this level. He had a line drive hit back at him that he thankfully caught. He and his teammate also tagged the guy out at third after the catch... good heads up by him and the third baseman. :)

Headed to the cottage after Eli's game. Was a nice weekend there. Mike was out of town, but my sister and her kids were there most of the time. Steve and Mary also stopped on Sunday for awhile. It was windy, which was a bummer, but we still had fun. We got a pedal boat from one of our friend's parents. Oh my gosh... the kids love it!!! They spent most of the weekend on it!!!!

The other day we got in the car to head to the bus and the kids asked if they could play basketball. I said sure. They were shocked by my response. I told them they had three minutes. They were so excited! Love when something so simple can make them so happy!

Nate and I went for our first bike ride of the season. I think he could ride forever. We went for about four miles. :)

Nate really struggled to get a gogurt open the other day. First one he tried opening and it ripped all the way down the side and got all over the floor. As I was cleaning that up he grabbed another one and while he was waiting for me to help him open it he was hitting it against the edge of the counter.... and, this happened. It flung everywhere... including on the kitchen window. These are moments that test my patience. I think I passed the test. Took a deep breath, opened the third one for him and then cleaned up the second mess. Someday I will miss this... right?
